Printed Glass Gems

Hey! Sorry I missed the last couple of updates. I was on vacation in Minnesota! This week's diy is great for anything from a fridge to a locker. You just get some large (or small if that's all you can find) glass gems. I found bags of about 35 at Dollar Tree. Then, you cut out or print some small squares of patterns or pictures you like. Next, you trace the gems onto the pictures and cut them out. For the last step, get some Mod Podge or any other clear-drying glue. This final step is a little tricky, so I'm going to break it down into smaller parts.
1. Using a paintbrush spread a thin, even coat of your glue onto the flat side of the glass gem.
2. Add the picture with the print you want to show facing down. Slowly press it onto a flat surface to get rid of air bubbles. *If this doesn't work, use your hands instead. Just make sure not to move the picture around too much since the glue will still be wet.
3. Use scissors to get rid of any excess picture hanging over the side. I find it helpful to leave the gem flat side up for this step.
4. Last but not least, apply another thin and even coat of glue on top of the picture to seal it in.

After the glue is dry, add a small magnet to the back and you're done! Or you could leave to magnet off and use the gems as desk decor or mini paperweights. The possibilities are just about endless. Well, see you all next time! Bye!
