Pom-Poms

Time for a simple one! I have a couple of tips, though.
First: You can wrap the yarn around anything. The bigger the item, the bigger the pom pom, and the more yarn you'll need.
Next: Make sure that when you are tying it off, tie through both layers so it looks kind of like a bow. When I made these, I didn't know that part and mine turned out more like lumpy tassels. Not pretty.
Also: To make your pom poms look neater after you cut the strings, I really suggest trimming it. I know it says this on the picture, but it is a really important step. It gives you a chance to get rid of the messy, uneven strings.
Finally: The more yarn you use, the fuller the pom pom will be. Also, the more yarn you want to add, the looser you should try to wrap it to make it easier to remove the many layers.

You can use these pom poms everywhere, from putting them on a decorative tray on your desk, to leaving the tying strings long hanging them from your ceiling. Enjoy!
