Hey everybody! I absolutely love fall fashion, and since fall is almost here, I chose a diy poncho. You can make them in lighter fabrics to wear over shirts, heavy fabrics to wear as jackets, as well as long to go with leggings or shorter to go with jeans! These are so versatile and easy to make. You just need about 1-1.5 yards of fabric to make the one above. Just fold the piece of fabric in half and make sure the fold is on the top. Then, mark how wide you want your sleeves as well as how wide you want the body (make sure these measurements are wide enough for your arms and torso/hips). Draw two L's using these markings. Then, sew on these lines. No need to turn it inside out because we want to keep the extra fabric on the sides. So don't cut it off when you are done! Then, cut a slit up the middle of the front. After that, cut a curve out of the top middle to make a head hole. And you're done with the basic poncho! You can cut fringe if you want or to add a belt, cut a slit on the outside of the sewn seam just big enough for the belt you want to wear. Then, slip the belt through the slits and that's it! See you next week!
