The night was silent. The wind was blowing whispering silent tunes in my ear. I take in a deep breath and smell something unusual. Something that I usually don't smell when I come out here. I closed my eyes and listened closely.

I could hear voices in the distance. I moved quickly and silently behind a nearby tree. I could hear their feet pressing into the ground. When they got close to the tree I was behind I held my breath. Praying to my goddess that they didn't find me.

After a few minutes their footsteps faded. I sighed in relief then bolted in the opposite direction. The wind brushed through my hair and I smiled. The night would make any creature feel like they were Queen of the Night. I took in a deep breath and could smell the world around me.

I caught the sent of wonderful blood. I ran in the direction and saw another vampire having a midnight snack. I stopped and smiled. I walked over to her and she stopped and looked at me. My body froze.

She looked so different. She looked like another breed. I took a step back and felt someone wrap their arms around me. I screamed and the smell of blood ran through the air wildly. I sighed then everything went dark.

-Ashley's Pov-

I woke up in a cold sweat. My body was shaking, sweat was running down my body and my hair was stuck to my face. Zero sat up and cupped my face. He turned my face gently and made me look at him.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"I saw something." I answered.

"What did you see?"

"Someone getting killed." I answered.

He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer to him.

"Maybe its time to go back to Maryland."

"I agree."

I sighed and laid back down in his arms. I laid my head against his chest. I listened to his heartbeat while slowly drifting back to sleep.

I woke up the next morning from the smell of breakfast. I climbed out of bed and made my way to the kitchen where Zero was laying pancakes on the plate. I smiled warmly and wrapped my arms around him. He smiled and looked over his shoulder at me.

"Goodmorning beautiful."

"Goodmorning."

"Breakfast is ready."

I smiled and we ate. When I finished I walked through our hotel room onto the balcony. Zero and I had escaped to Romania during the spring. The atmosphere here was warm and amazing. We even got to meet the decent of Dracula. She was really nice and her mate was even nicer.

I sighed. I was going to miss this sunshine and this warm place. I walked into the room and helped Zero pack the rest of our things. When we finished we walked out the room and down to the front desk. Zero paid the man the money for our stay and we made our way outside into a cab.
