Hunted

Chapter 5

    We both bowed respectful to his father.

"You summoned." Zero Spoke.

"It is not that i do not wish you were here but the question is why have you come?" He questioned.

"Yesterday a forest caught on fire-"

"What does human affairs have to do with you coming here?"

"Ashley was in the middle of the fire. When i reached her it was as if she had started the fire. Her clothes were burned off and her body was hot and also everywhere was burned but where she laid. That area was left untouched by the flames."

     His father's eyes landed on me and for a moment I saw something weird in his eyes.

"When she finally awoke she spoke a name that I believe you are familiar with."

"And what is the name?"

"Cassandra."  I finally spoke.

      His father was silent for a moment then his eyes darted around to the guards that stood before us. He arose from his thrown.

"It is not safe to talk here. Follow me." 

   Zero and  I shared glances then followed his father. We walked down many hallways until we reached a single room. His father turned his head and looked at the guards that followed also.

"No one is to go pass this door but Zero and Ashley. Do I make myself clear?" 

"Yes sir." The guards spoke in union. 

     The three of us entered the room and he quickly shut the door.

"What we spoke of in this room does not under any circumstances leave this room understood?" He spoke with nothing but seriousness in his voice.

"Understood." Zero and i spoke. 

  He walked away from the door and i looked around the room. It was filled with a variety  of different books. In the middle of the room was a stand, on top of it laid a large book. Zero's dad walked around the book then sighed.

"Are past has been a violent one. So many innocent lives has been took and so much blood has been shade." He spoke as he opened the book that laid on the stand.

  "Our history dates back to the 1700's were humans acknowledged the existences of our kind. Your great grandfather , Lewis,  ruled in this era destroying anyone who caused problems between humans and vampires. We lived in peace in the shadows of our own world  and the humans. Until one faithful day dozens of humans were found slaughtered drained of all their blood. It took months to gather up all the witnesses but they spoke of vampires with gifts. One the gift of water, another the gift of electricity, wind,earth,the ability to take away the senses, another able to manipulate the mind. Over a thousand warriors died, along with many humans drained of blood before we finally caught the seven.-"

"If their were seven of them what was the last ability?" i questioned.

"She was a witch." He explained. "When we finally caught the seven they were found guilty of all their crimes and was condemned to death. Before their death the witch spoke only one thing, That they will be back and they will bring down the human world. With that being said Lewis took great caution and buried them underground where no one was to find them."

 "What does that have to do with the ones that are hunting us now?"Zero questioned.

"The witch name was Cassandra and if what you speak is true that they are live and are hunting you they must be after Ashley."
