Hunted

Chapter 6

      I laid against Zero's chest listening to his heart beat as he slept. I sighed. Could what Zero's father said actually be true?  Was i to be the next goddess?  Does that mean i would have to leave Zero?

   I ran my head over my stomach then sat up. I looked at his calming features.  I ran my fingers over his cheek then lightly kissed his forehead.

"Ashley." I heard a familiar voice call.

    I looked around a saw a small light shinning outside the door. I climbed out of bed and opened the door. I looked around and watched as the light escaped down the hallway. I followed the light until we reached the room Zero's father had taken us yesterday.  I walked into the room and shut the door.

"My dearest Ashley." i heard the Goddess speak.

    I turned then bowed in respect.

"Arise my child."

   I stood and looked at her.

"You must have many questions for me."

"yes."

"You may ask."

"Is what Zero's father spoke is true?"

    She hesitated for a moment then nodded.

"Indeed it is."

"So my mother and father aren't my real mother and father?"

"No i am your mother."

"And who is my father?"

"The wolf God."

    I could feel my anger boiling.

"So you both stood by will that man I thought was my father beat me?"

    She stood in silence then another light found its way inside the room. I frowned when my so called "father" appeared.

"It was not her doing. We are not to get involved with anything that happens.  That defeats the purpose of free will."

"Ashley i wanted to protect you. I will did but that is our law. We cannot. I deeply apologize."

"Do not apologize it made me into the women or thing i am today." I spoke.

"You are no thing. You are the first to be born of the hybrid genes." My father spoke.

"I was not born with it. It was forced upon me."

"No Ashley. You were born from a Vampire Goddess and a Werewolf Goddess you were born to be a hybrid. You just needed both bites to become who you were destined to be."

"When you were first born we took away your power and made you into a human. we thought you wouldn't want  to live your life as a Goddess." My mother spoke.

"I would have rather lived any other life than the one I had."

I sighed then a thought hit me.

"What are Aurx? He told me we were the same."

"Aurx is not our child. Only you. He is mistaken." My mother spoke.

I nodded understanding slightly.

"So what Goddess am I suppose to be?"

"You have the ability to control water, fire, earth, air, and spirits. Your true name is Achelois."

"Achelois?" 

     She nodded then looked to my newly found father. He nodded to her. My mother walked towards me and lightly kissed the crown of my forehead and i see my mother lightly rubbing her swollen stomach. I watched as she stroked her stomach one last time before it retracted back to a normal size. A tear fell from her cheek. She gave me up.
