"Why don't you come in?" Paige smiles, all too sweetly.
"Tell Mum I'll be there in a sec." I smile, the hot Queensland sun beaming on my arms, and my gaze directing Jordan.
"No problems. Come on, babe." Paige smirks, entangling her fingers with Jordan's.
I face Charlie, rolling my eyes.
"That was my sister, Paige. And that was-"
"Jordan." Charlie finishes, his fists curling up into a ball.
"She's only doing it to rub it in my face, Charlie!"
"Why do you care? Do you still love him?"
I slap his firm chest, rolling my eyes.
I would never like Jordan. I like someone else.
"Never in a million years, Charlie. Why do you ask? Are you jealous?" I scoff, placing my hand on he doorknob.
Charlie didn't answer, making me wonder. He probably just didn't hear the last bit.
I open the door, walking through the long hallway, and surprisingly, a lot has changed. The once brown carpet was now a deep red, and the school pictures that used to be on the wall of Paige and myself were taken down, replaced with a new coat of chocolate colour.
"Come on, Charlie." I beckon, making him walk into the hallway, just like I did.
I take the first right, entering into the kitchen. My mother was placing a roast into the oven, shutting the door.
"Mum." I smile, making her jump and giving her a hug.
"Olivia Rose Thompson, you have changed so much since I last saw you!" She exclaims, looking like she was on the verge of tears.
"Mum, it's been only a week." I mumble, turning around to see Charlie awkwardly leaning against the door frame.
"Uh, mum. This is my friend Charlie." I gesture, Charlie walking out into the kitchen.
"You're a very attractive young man, Charlie." Mum says, shaking his outstretched hand.
"Mum!" I gasp, blushing.
"I'm also her roommate, the college seemed to have thought my name was more feminine than masculine. One of the perks of having an unisex name." Charlie states, flashing a charming smile.
"Mum, Jordan and I-" Paige says, walking into the kitchen with Jordan following. "-we're going to go to the shops. Olivia, introduce me to your boyfriend."
"Paige, this is Charlie, my friend and roommate." I introduce, exhilarating the word 'friend.'
"Oh, pleasure. Excuse me for the mix up." Paige says, shaking Charlie's hand.
Why was she being so... Nice? She's usually a bitch. Why is she touching his hand? Excuse me, no. You can't do this Paige. Wait, why am I worrying so much about it? He's just a friend, duh.
"Well, Charlie, I'll show you to your room." I interrupt, grabbing my suitcase and walking to the hall.
"I'm sure Charlie would be fine in the guest room, Olivia." My mum warns, a noteable tone in her voice.
"But doesn't Jordan sleep there?" I ask, frowning. I swear, one more frown and I'll be full of wrinkles.
"He's going to sleep in my room, Liv. We've already established that." Paige smiles, rubbing it in my face.
"Mum, that isn't fair!" I protest, grabbing Charlie's forearm. A part of me wanted Charlie to be with me. Was it because I was afraid Paige would make a move on him? Or was it because -
