Happiness and Where To Find It

Some people claim that they can never be happy. No matter what they do, how they behave, what they do, they can never find happiness. It enrages me sometimes to hear this, because you see, happiness isn't meant to be a prolonged state. That is why we cherish it so much. If everyone were happy all the time, the scenario of the world would be more likely dystopic than utopic.

Happiness, for me, is in the smell of old libraries. It is in the first careless notes you play on your instrument. It is in the sights of lush green trees, snow-capped mountains and untouched pristine lakes. It is in the taste of your favourite meal, in the touch of an old favourite book. Happiness is in petrichor. It is in the innocent caress of your child, in the proud pat on your back by your parent. It is present in the heart-to-heart moments spent with your best friends. It is in the early update of your favourite author on an online storytelling community. It is in the invincible feeling you get when you accomplish your personal goals. It is in the feeling of getting drenched in rain, as it is in the feeling of watching the full moon. It is in binge watching movies, in the taste of chocolate and the aroma of popcorn. It can also be felt when somebody you admire and respect believes in you and your potential. Happiness is watching clouds and declaring what they look like. It is in the love filled glances of your partner, as is it in the smug satisfaction of your enemy's moment of embarrassment.

So, you see, happiness is only momentary. But don't fret about it, the other phases of life are momentary, too. Being busy, stressed, or worried doesn't mean you cannot be happy at all. As ole Dumbledore once said, "Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light."

A/N: That's about it, people. As of today, this book is complete. I had meant this book to have seven chapters originally, and it seems they are done. I will update if I feel the need to do so. I would like to thank all my readers for their support. People I would like to thank, in alphabetical order of their usernames:
