"Well that could have gone better," Cameron Mitchell led the way back to the stargate.
"Indeed," Tea'c raised a eyebrow in his direction. "I'm afraid many of the council members still cling to the hope that Origin will bring them closer to ascension."
Daniel frowned, "They're wrong."
Teal'c tilted his head towards Daniel. "I know that Daniel Jackson, it is they who do not."
"Enough with the politics guys," Cam Mitchell interrupted. "I'm just thankful to be out of that stuffy council chamber."
"Me too," Vala walked over to Daniel and lent her head on his shoulder. "You don't think you could ask for me to be left behind in the future when political matters call?"
Daniel lifted her head from his shoulder. "It would be my pleasure," he said sarcastically.
Vala beamed with delight, "Really Daniel! You'd do that for me?" She stopped as she saw the look on Sam and Col. Mitchell's faces. "Oh," she said slowly."You were joking..."
Sam burst out laughing and Vala huffed haughtily. "It's not my fault that i don't understand everything you say. I'm not from Earth after all."
Cam grinned, "But I think we'd all agree that you're perfectly comfortable with the concept of sarcasm. Wouldn't you?"
"Really...." Vala raised an eyebrow.
Daniel Smirked, "I think you just proved the point."
Sam wasn't smiling, "We need to hurry up. We're already late for our check in. General Landry will be beginning to worry."
"He'll probably think the council has locked us up for stepping out of line or something." Vala said, skipping ahead. "It's happened before."
Teal'c gave her 'the look' and said,"Yes, but those occasions were on different planets. Not with the Jaffa."
"Well I wouldn't put it past them," Vala said.
They stopped in front of the stargate. Daniel walked over and put in the code. A wormhole established in the stargate. The team stepped through.
After a few seconds they materialised on the other side only to find themselves within the confines of a goau'ld mothership. Everyone turned to stare at Daniel.
"You sure that was the right address," Cam said just as a tall figure stepped into view.
"Well, it's nice to see you again, long time no see." He smirked.
"Damn!" Exclaimed Caml. He turned to look at Sam, "Well, how the hell did he do that!"
