Once I said those words on that I am choosing Kriss to be my wife, people gasped and whispered, but soon cheered.
I closed the press meeting and after that, America came up to me. She congratulated Kriss and I with a shaky breath. When I told her that she'll be leaving tomorrow after breakfast, that's when she broke.
All she said back was that she'll hope that I didn't regret my decision. I saw out of the corner of my eye that Kriss looked so surprised, but America didn't seem to notice. She ran out of the Great Room crying.
It pained me to see her like this, but I can't go back now. I'm sure that I'll fall in love with Kriss soon enough. I was going to ask why she looked so surprised about what America just said, but I didn't bother.

Dinner was about to start as people started filing in the Dining Hall. The staff soon started to serve food, but I saw no sign of America. I decided to tell one of the palace staff to give her dinner to one of her maids, so they can take it to her.
When dinner officially started and people started eating, my parents asked Kriss and I when will the wedding be. My mom was the most excited about it since she's never had a daughter before, but she could have if she didn't have a few miscarriages before me.
Kriss replied, "I want the wedding as soon as possible!"
"Great! We can have it one month from now!" my mom said cheerfully. I saw that my dad had put on a fake smile for her sake. I had to also for Kriss, but to be honest, I disliked it.
"Hey, is it okay that I only invite The Elite to the wedding? Also, I want America as my Maid of Honor and The Elite to stay in the palace until after the wedding. I want to tell her tomorrow! Is that okay?" Kriss said.
"Whatever you want my dear. Whatever you want." I said while forcing a smile. She smiled. She and my mom talked about wedding details, as my dad and I said the occasional, 'Yes my dear.'
Dinner was over about an hour later, and I buried myself back into work.
