~~~Maxon' Point of View~~~
I was still in my study finished one last piece of paperwork when I heard the sirens go off signaling a Rebel attack. I quickly looked at the clocked and it was exactly midnight, very early Tuesday morning.
I quickly opened the door and I saw that there were no guards at my door. I ignored it and ran to the Royal Family Safe Room. So much was going through my mind.
Why would they attack now? The last attack was from the Northern Rebels before America's father had passed. That happened about two months ago. Which rebel is attacking? Is Kriss okay? Is America okay? Is Mer okay? Should I go find America? I thought.
I quickly ran to America's room, but I was interrupted by a guard shortly after, Officer Avery.
"Your Highness! You need to go to the safe room immediately! You're going the wrong way!" Avery shouted.
"I need-" I said, but was immediately cut off.
"Come on! There's no time!" Avery stated then grabbed my wrist and ran us off to the safe room. Along the way, I kept shouted worriedly that I need and go to America. He kept telling me she'll be alright and find a safe room, she's brave. I kept countering him with the same line until we reached the door of our destination.
My parents are probably in there already, so I had to re-compose myself. They couldn't see me like this, father would scold me, if so. The guards guarding the doors opened them up and I walked in while Officer Avery ran off to find any rebels.
Mother quickly hugged me and said she as worried that I wouldn't make it. Father just simply said 'Son' and then gave me a small and short hug. I looked around the room and there were at least five years, some palace staff, and no sign off Kriss or America.
I asked one of the guards where the two were and he said Kriss was already in a safe room and that they personally didn't know where America was. I started to get worried, but I couldn't show it in front of my parents.
Five minutes passed. Ten minutes passed. Finally, 15 minutes passed and America barged in with two other guards. She's supporting a guard on his left, whom I despise, Aspen. While the other guard whom I recognised, Officer Woodwork, supporting Aspen's right side. Most everyone an expression of shock on their face at the sight.
America hurriedly explained the situation at hand. Apparently, America ran into a Southern Rebel and was about to get shot. Then Aspen showed up and basically took the bullet, saving her.
I'm mostly grateful that America is safe, but I felt a pang of jealousy stirring within me. I didn't like that she was hovering and crying over Aspen. I know he's shot and all, but I don't like the sight of her pouring out all her emotions towards her boyfriend, or so I assume they're back together.
Just then, a realization hit me, I love America and I still do. I could confess to her in the EMergency Room, but I already know the response I would get. I guess I should try later when she has calmed down.
Two guards came in about two minutes later saying the rebels have left. Since the bed that Aspen was laying on had on wheels like a hospital bed, America and Officer Woodwork told the Officers the situation quickly and left the room, pushing the bed as fast as they could.
---America's Point of View---
When two guards came in about two minutes later to give us the new that the Southern Rebels are gone, Officer Woodwork and I quickly explained the situation to them and hurriedly pushed the bed Aspen was laying on towards the Emergency Room. The whole way there, I cried and told Aspen not to die on me and that I still loved him.
+++Kriss' Point of View+++
I had ordered one of my most trusted rebels to go and kill America once the sirens went off. My brother, Alex(Alexander), already knows which saferoom I will be going because I was informed when this would happen. I decided to be in the library at the time so I quickly ran to the designated safe room nearby.
About 20 minutes of waiting in the dark room, someone opened the door. It was my brother who did and I asked him the question that has been on my mind for 20 minutes.
"Is it done?" I asked.
"No." He replied. "Unfortunately, when I went to go and find him, he was lying on the ground with a bullet in his brain. Kriss, someone intervened in your plans and saved America." I got very agitated and angry. This was a very important night! Why did she have to be saved!?
I balled up my fists and commanded angrily, "Set up an attack for the wedding. Make sure she does get killed this time."
"I will send word as soon as possible Kriss. It's almost our time." Alex stated then walked me out of the room and bakc to my bedroom.
