Jerome's P.O.V

"Hello Jerome," Cierra greeted as she walked into the room. I turned my head towards her, taking in her features. Today, her hair was in a ponytail - which surprised me since her hair is always down. She had a wide smile on her face, which caused me to smile back.

"Good morning," I greeted back as I grabbed the coffee decanter. I heard a few footsteps and Antonio emerged from the hallway.

I suddenly felt my smile fade and I looked away as he grabbed her waist. I poured the coffee into my mug just as Cierra began to speak.

"So uh, I'm gonna take Archer and Artie out in the backyard," she announced. I turned my head towards her and nodded. She smiled and kissed Antonio on the cheek before walking away.

"You two seem very happy," I pointed out, sipping my coffee.

Antonio smiled and nodded, walking towards the kitchen island. "I don't think I could be any happier; she's amazing."

I nodded. "You like her?"

"Of course," He went over and got a mug from the cabinet. He poured some coffee into the cup then took the cream out of the fridge.

"Yeah, but do you really like her?" I asked, looking down at my coffee cup then to him.

"If I didn't, I wouldn't be with her Jerome," he poured the cream into the cup then eyed me.

I nodded again. "Right, I know that."

Yes, I do know that, and for that I am pissed off. I fell for her - or I'm still falling for her - whatever and my best friend is dating her. She doesn't show me any interest, yet I still am developing feelings for her.

"You've been like this since Cierra and I began to date," Antonio pointed out. "Do you need to tell me something?"

"No-"

"Nothing has been going on between you and Kayli?" That's not even close.

"Nope, nothing is wrong."

He stated at me until his phone had beeped, which he took out of his pocket. He stared at his phone for a while before looking back up at me.

"Look, I have to go. Tell Cierra, I'll come pick her up and I'll be here by seven. And we'll talk about this later, 'cause I know there's something going on with you."

I rose my hand and a dismissive way. "Yeah sure. See ya."

He nodded and walked out of the kitchen, and in a few seconds I heard the door slam shut. Archie and Archer came running into the kitchen - completely ignoring me - through the back door and into the back yard.

Cierra come into the room a smile on her face, walking towards the door.

"Antonio left?" She asked, stopping.

I nodded. "Yeah, he said he'll pick you up later."

She nodded. "Okay.. I'll just go out with the dogs then."

I nodded once again and sipped on my coffee. I watched as she turned and went towards the doors that lead to the back yard. My eyes scanned her body; the washed ripped jeans, pink tank top and a pair of pink sandals. Even though she didn't shop like Kayli did, she still looked beautiful. She didn't have to try, she was naturally beautiful.

"I'll join you," I blurted, without thinking twice. She turned around, her eyebrows raised.

She shook her head, "You don't have to."

"I want to," I put my mug down. "Let me get changed and I'll met you outside."

"Okay."

Cierra's P.O.V

I awkwardly stood next to Jerome and watched Archie and Artie fight over the toy. I wasn't  normal thing to stand next to my boss, since I was barely next to him anyway. I tried to keep my distance, especially since I was with Antonio.

I smiled as he came back to mind; our relationship just kind of happened. I had a crush on my boss - who I barely knew - but yet he has a girlfriends he loves. I was crushing on the wrong guy and Antonio just left his girlfriend. When he had asked me on a date, I didn't want to say yes. I'm no man's replacement or back up girl.

Yet, he proved himself, and showed me I wasn't just some side piece. He actually likes me and he sees a future between us. There was no future between Jerome and I. I had a crush on the wrong guy.

Antonio treats me like a princess, and doesn't push his money on me; which I appreciate. Well, sometimes; he likes to do simple things and likes to buy things for me. I would let it slide just a few times, but other times, I wouldn't.

"You like this job, correct?"

I turned my head towards my boss, "Of course, I love Archer and Artie."

He nodded, "Of course."

I turned my head back to the two siberian huskies playing with one another.

"Uh, where's Kayli?" I asked, trying to get rid of the silence.

"Working," he mumbled, crossing his arms. "Or spending my money."

I looked back at my boss. "I don't wanna seem rude, or anything but-"

My words suddenly got stuck in my throat as I looked over my boss. The white short sleeved t-shirt hugged his torso and biceps, making me bit my lip. My eyes went down even further, where his sweat pants hung loosely on his waist, his v-line exposed. This man is going to kill me.

"Cierra?"

My eyes shot up towards my boss, and my cheeks began to heat up.

"Are you alright?" He asked, yet his lips were twitching.

I nodded quickly. "Y-yes."

"Alright then," he looked out towards his two dogs. "What were you saying?"

"What?" I stared at him, but then realized what he meant. I shook my head and cleared my throat. "I - uh - I was asking if," I paused and looked away from him. "If there was - uh - something going wrong between you and Kayli."

"We're fine."

I rose a brow, "Oh."

"Yes, we're great."

"That's great," I took a deep breath, "I thought that the reason you two were fighting so much was because of me."

"It was - it is," he smiled. "But I don't mind."

I whipped my head towards my boss. "What?"

"Let's go play," he spoke, the smile still on his face. He grabbed my hand and pulled me towards Archer and Artie.

Suddenly, the tingles came back; and the feelings I tried to forget came with.
