I give everyone who is reading this book permission to dislike me. I'm horrible at updates, but it's only because I'm holding myself and my ideas back. But I'll get better and update more. Thanks for sticking with this book and please enjoy. Excuse any mistakes I've made.

"I'm not sure," Cierra shook her head.
"You don't have to be," Alissa told her friend, "'Cause I already know you like your boss."
She groaned, "But I don't wanna like him, why can't you get that?"
"Because he likes you too and I won't-"
"How would you know that for sure?"
Alissa looked at her friend like she was crazy, "You guys kissed, stupid! And he sounded scared as fuck when he called me after you fainted."
Cierra rolled her eyes, "That doesn't mean anything-"
Alissa threw a chip at her friend, "Shut the fuck up, you know he likes you."
"You're rude," she mumbled, picking the chip up from the floor before he cat got to it.
"Why can't you just accept it?"
"He's still with Kayli," Cierra spoke, "And so that shows me that, in truth, he doesn't like me."
"Or maybe," Alissa's voice rose, "You don't show enough interest and so he doesn't see the reason to leave her."
Cierra let the words sink in, "Shut up."
"Ha! You know I'm right!"
Cierra sighed, "Whatever."
"Talk to him-"
"About what? Just be like 'What did those many kisses between us mean? Does that mean you're gonna leave your girlfriend?'"
Alissa smiled, "Yes! Exactly!"
Ciera rolled her eyes, "That's so dumb — it won't work."
"It will. Look, isn't Kayli leaving? It's your chance to talk."
"I-"
"Just try; I know he likes you — or maybe has some feelings for you — I'm not blind. He cares for you, I know he does. Take this chance."
"Okay Alissa, I'll try."

"I guess I'll see you in a few months Jerome," Kayli said to her boyfriend, her face expressionless.
"Alright," he replied, leaning on the couch in the living room.
He had helped her bring all of her luggage to her - his? - car for the past hour. There was no talking between the two but they didn't need to talk anyway. They haven't really been speaking since the whole fainting of Cierra.
"Bye then," she spoke, putting on her sunglasses. She walked out of the house and closed the door behind her.
"Bye," he sighed then stood up. He heard an engine roar then loud music, before it was once again silent.
He walked into the kitchen just as Lona walked out, "Good morning Mr. Jerome," she greeted.
"Good morning," he smiled, then glanced into the kitchen at Cierra who was eating breakfast, "Lona, how about you take today off?"
She tilted her head, "What about lunch and dinner?"
"Don't worry about it. We will order out or try to cook something, so please take the day off."
