"You look so handsome." Imani says as I get out of her car.

"Mani you saying that like I ain't been in yo car for twenty minutes," I shut the door and she rolls down the window.

"You do boo. Good luck." She says as I walk up to the entrance of Carter Consolidated.

"Thank you." I enter the building and my mouth almost drops in awe. The crystal white floor had not a speck of dirt on it, the golden chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, and the many businessmen and women walk around dressed in the finest suits and dresses.

I walk to the front desk where a woman sat, she almost reminded me of my mama. Beautiful milky skin, long natural hair, and the prettiest smile.

"How can I help you?" She smiles warmly at me, typing away on her computer.

"I have an interview with Mr. Carter."

"Your name, please?"

"Angel Cortez," I tap my finger anxiously.

"Twentieth floor, second door on your left." She hands me a badge with my name on it.

"Got it." I say, putting the badge around my neck.

I make it to the elevator, someone already inside.

"Twentieth floor, please." I say as the door closes. He presses the button for the twentieth floor and we head up.

"You're quite the handsome fellow." The man says, with this sexy British accent.

I'm glad I was darkskinned because he would've seen all types of red in my face.

"Thank you." I mutter sheepishly.

"What is your name?" He asks

"I'm Angel." I extended my hand for him to shake, instead he puts it to his lips, gently kissing it.

If I wasn't blushing then I sure was now.

"And I'm Clark."

"Kent?" I add, we both share a laugh.

So corny and lame Angel.

"I wish."

12th floor.

"So what are you here for, if you don't mind me asking?" He looks over at me.

"I have an job interview with Mr. Carter,"

16th floor.

"Well good luck," the elevator stops at the 20th floor and we both get off. "It was nice meeting you."

I nod and smile, "Same."

I follow the directions the lady gave me to Mr. Carter's office and knock lightly on the door.

"Come in." A deep voice says from the other side of the door.

I hesitantly open the door, entering his office.
