(Harry's POV)

Today had been horrible after my first class, DADA.

The new potions master, Sir Coldrunus, gave everyone tests and quizzes to test their knowledge over what we could remember. Of course Hermione did better than everyone else. I, on the other hand, almost failed half of them. Then, Madam Pomfry had called for an inspection on all the returning students. She scolded me for my loss in strength and kept going on about how I will need it for quidditch. But the truth was that I was only going to be an extra seeker just in case a team is down on theirs. For lunch, Ron and Hermione had sat between a group of first years telling them all about the war. Hearing that caused me to almost break so I left the Great Hall in a hurry. After that, well... let's just leave it at a bad day.

I walk up to the painting guarding my new room. The lady in an elegant satin dress smiled sadly at me. Knowing instantly the troubles that I had encountered this day.

"Don't worry Harry. Everything will start perking up! I know it will!"

I gave the lady a small smile and mumbled lemonspice. She bowed and allowed me in. Once I got inside I heard the sound of a crackling fire and I spotted Malfoy almost instantly. I started thinking. Maybe for now he will leave me alone. Especially after what he did all day.

"What the fuck happened to you Potter?"

Never mind then. I didn't answer. Instead I walk over to the ruby red couch and slump my body into it. I closed my eyes and started falling asleep. Soon I was shivering even though there was a warm fire heating the room.

"Stupid Potter... Doesn't even know what a bed is..." I hear Malfoy mumble.

It wasn't long before I felt a nice warm blanket drape around me. I curled into it happily and smiled softly. Maybe Malfoy and I could, after all that has happened, still mend our friendship. If, of course, he wants to.

After about an hour of sleep I feel someone shaking me. At first I thought it was Ron and I was going to punch him but instead I wake up and find a very aggravated Malfoy looking at me.

"Come on Potter it's time to eat."

I groggily get up and rub my eyes under my glasses. We then leave the warm room into the cooler hall ways. The whole time Malfoy would not ever glance at me. He didn't once send a comment my way nor even noticed my presence. That I was thankful for.

We make our way to the Great Hall and sit down at the "Returning" class table. Malfoy goes and sits near his friends. Which isn't uncommon.

Soon Ron and Hermione join me and we start talking.

"Harry! You don't look like yourself today."

I give her a small smile and start telling them what had happened. Except for lunch of course.

"I really am sorry Harry... You will always have us do not forget."

"Yah and if that bloody idiot Malfoy causes you any trouble you just come to us. I am sure you could come and sleep with me and Neville."

"Neville and I, Ron."

"Fine... Neville and I..."

I chuckle softly as I see them quarrel. Suddenly the food appears and I only get a small portion. I told everyone that I had had a big lunch. Which of course was a complete lie.

After the feast and a few words from the headmaster, we leave. Malfoy walks with me silently again and we quickly make it back to the painting.

"Lemonspice," we both say at the same time. Malfoy glares at me as we make our way inside.

Once we reach the main room Malfoy plops back down on his special sofa. I on the other hand go and take a shower before bed.

I grab my pajamas and head into the bathroom. I pull out and flick my wand and watch as an array of colourful water fills spills out into the tub. Soon fog had covered my glasses and I knew it was ready.

After my shower, I step out and wrap a towel around my waist. Then I brush my teeth until they are white again. As I am about to leave Malfoy walks in and sees me. His eyes widen and I instantly get self-conscious. When I know he isn't going to move I bow my head and mumble a sorry before leaving.

I decide to quickly change in the bed room and then I head into the main to study a little bit for potions. Hermione would be pleased with me...

Suddenly it gets too dark to read and I see that the fire had died and the sun had gone down. I then set my books down and trudge into the bedroom. My body falls onto the soft sheets and I finally let go.

I let the tears stream down my cheeks and I allow small cries to leave my mouth.

Good thing Malfoy was asleep already...
