It's been three days since the Shadows threatened Stiles and Lydia. The Shadows haven't spoke to him in a while. Stiles didn't tell anyone about the threat not even Scott. He had to lie to his father about what happened in the house and his room. He just said that a kid with a baseball accidentally hit his window and some criminals probably just felt like spray painting something.

His father didn't seem to be buying it, but he let it slide this time. His father was a major alcoholic. When he was stressed, he always drank about three Heineken's in a week. He had to pay for all the damage, and Stiles couldn't help but feel a little guilty.

Stiles decided to get a job to help pay for the damage. He was currently job hunting, and he had his eye on Sam's since they payed $10 an hour. (That's true in real life consider that as a first job.)

Stiles walked inside the supermarket and approached the manager with an application in his hands. He slapped the paperwork on his desk with determination. The manager looked up from whatever he was writing, and gave him a strange look.

"Can I help you sir?" The manager said. Stiles folded his arms and nodded. "Matter fact yes you can sir, I would like to have a job here." Stiles said. The manager rolled at him funny. "We don't need anymore employees. Check with us in two months." The manager said and returned to his paperwork. Stiles frowned; he was not gonna except a no.

"I can help with anything. I'll organize the buggies, throw out rotten food, give out samples, and other things too! I'm very flexible." Stiles said trying to persuade him to hire him. The manager had an unamused face. "Look kid I already said no. We don't need your extra help. Now please leave me alone." The manager said. Stiles just wasn't having it.

"I won't leave until I get yes as an answer, and I ain't afraid of security guards." Stiles said boldly. The manager just stared at him; he looked like he was in deep thought. After a few minutes of just intense staring, the manager rolled his eyes. "You start tomorrow at 4. Here's your uniform we'll have your name tag done by tomorrow. Pay checks are given every other Friday." The manager said. Stiles smiled a toothy grin and grabbed the uniform. "Thanks sir!" Stiles said. "Don't make me regret this." The manager said. "I won't I promise." Stiles said.

When he was about to leave, he saw familiar red hair in the corner of his eye. His assumption was right it was indeed Lydia Martin working at a sample station. He smirked and approached the stand.

"Well well well if it isn't miss firecracker." He said. Stiles picked up a fruit sample and ate it. Lydia looked surprised to see him there. "Stiles?! What're you doing here?" Lydia asked. Stiles raised his brow. "Guess who's your new co worker?" Stiles said sarcastically. Lydia frowned and glared at him. "You have got to be kidding me." Lydia said.

First he becomes her lab partner, then he's her spring formal date, and now he's her co worker?! Three times is a pattern. "Believe it sweetheart." Stiles said and picked up another sample. "There is no way the boss would hire someone like you especially when we have more than enough employees." Lydia said. Stiles held up his uniform which made Lydia gasped in disbelief.

"Is that enough proof for you firecracker?" He asked. Lydia made a disgusted face. "I can't believe this." She said. "Yep I'll be starting tomorrow at 4 til 9." Stiles said. She facepalmed mentally. "Oh my god those are my hours." She said. Stiles laughed at her. "Ha we're going to be seeing a lot of each other aren't we sweetheart?" Stiles said. "Stop calling me pet names!" She said. Stiles just shrugged and picked up an obnoxious amount of samples from her cart.

"I'll see you tomorrow little red." Stiles said and walked off. Lydia blushed in fury. This was gonna be a long week.

The next day

Stiles parked at his new job with his uniform on all ready to go. He could already tell he was gonna love getting on Lydia's nerves. He walked into the store and went straight to the manager's office. "So what do you want me to do boss?" Stiles asked. The manager didn't even look at him; he just dipped his coffee. "Go organize all the cereal boxes on aisle three. Those damn kids always put it back in the wrong spot." The manager said and went back to typing. "Aye captain." Stiles said and walked to the aisle.

When he walked to the aisle, he was pleased to see Lydia working at the same stand she was at yesterday. "Well hello there little red." Stiles greeted. Lydia rolled her eyes. "What do you want Stilinski?" She asked. Stiles chuckled at her rudeness. "I just wanted to say hi to a fellow co worker." Stiles said trying to sound like the victim. "Oh shut up and go do your job Stilinski." Lydia snapped. Stiles pretended to look offended by her words. "Alright fine be like that." Stiles said and walked off. When he left, Lydia called Allison.

"Hello?" Allison said.

"You will not believe what just happened." Lydia said.

"Why what happened?" She asked. Lydia sighed on the other line.

"Stiles Stilinski is working at Sam's now! Can you believe this?" Lydia said. Lydia heard snickering of two people on the other line.

"Wow that's a coincidence." Allison said.

"Who's with you?" Lydia asked.

"Oh I'm at Scott's right now, say hi Scott." Allison said. "Sup Lydia!" She heard Scott say.

"Can you tell your little friend to stop calling me pet names? He is driving me up the wall." Lydia said. She could here Scott whisper something in Allison's ear through the phone. Whatever he said made her laugh.

"That means Stiles is beginning to warm up to you." Scott said. Lydia was so thankful they weren't present to see how red her face just turned.

"Wha..what?" She stuttered. She heard giggling again on the their line.

"When Stiles starts to like a girl, he calls her pet names and tries to get on her nerves on purpose to get your attention." Scott explained. Lydia was flustered.

"Oo Stiles and Lydia sitting on a tree." Allison sang. "K-I-S-S-I-N-G." Scott finished. Lydia rolled her eyes. "Really mature guys." Lydia said.

"Martin! Get off your phone." The manager said as he walked by. "Hey guys I have to go. I'll catch you later." Lydia said and hung up.

Lydia kept thinking about what Scott said to her. Did Stiles actually start to like her? She strictly remembers Scott saying he hated red heads for some reason. She took a quick glance at Stiles as he was organizing the cereal. As if on cue, he looked back at her and winked at her. She blushed and tried to look anywhere but his direction.

"Oh god Stiles Stilinski will be the death of me."
