"..Still to this day there is a royal family hiding somewhere in the world, hoping not to be found but to carry on their legacy." I recited.

Connie, John, Andrew and I were sitting in the school's library. Studying for our history of assassins final.

"I didn't know there was a royal family." John stated, wrapping his arms even tighter around Connie. It was freezing in the library, surprisingly colder than everywhere else. The winter was terrible here, you even have to wear your jacket to bed. Today was one of the colder days, but Andrew decided studying in the library would be a good idea. The library was a short brown cylinder shaped building with little-to-no insolation. The walls were filled with books dating back centuries, we sat in the middle on 2 couches. Connie had on mittens and a hat, she was sitting on Johns lap completely surrounded by mounds of dusty books. I Was in a thick sweater and sitting cross legged on the couch beside Andrew, who was wearing shorts.

"Plus what does the book mean by royal family anyways? Is there like, a community of assassins or something?" Connie added.

"Well I guess they are the community of assassins royal family obviously, but the book doesn't mention who the current queen is." I replied flipping the aging pages.

"Oh well! I guess that concludes our study session!" Andrew said grabbing my hand and standing up.

"Okay, we can meet in our dorm. You guys head up to the room, John and I are going to get hot cocoa." Connie agreed linking her arm with John's as they scampered out of the room. I tucked my chin into my sweater as Andrew and I trudged back to my dorm.

Once we arrived, we were greeted by a burst of warm air. I sighed flopped onto my bed, curling up into a ball. Andrew crawled over to me.

"Maahogany I got you something." Andrew sung into my ear, he pulled a small blue box out of his pocket and handed it to me.

"Oh Andrew you didn't have to get me anything." I said, but I took the box and looked at it.

"Happy birthday." Andrew whispered.

It's my birthday?! How could I have forgotten? I opened up the box and saw a beautiful silver necklace with a charm on it. The charm was a dove, the dove had its wings out-stretched and held a tiny emerald heart in its mouth.

"Oh my gosh, Andrew it's beautiful!" I exclaimed, propping myself up into a sitting position. Andrew took the necklace and gently wrapping it around my neck, fastening it. I turned my head around as Andrew leaned closer, about to kiss me when..

"Ew! Oh my god PDA!" John screeched covering his eyes with his hands. Andrew immediately got off me and cleared his throat. I looked at Connie and John with mock annoyance.

"Now you know what I've had to deal with since you two started dating." I teased sticking my tongue out at john, who pretended to be offended.

"We were getting hot cocoa at the mess hall when we ran into Ms. Romulie. She wants to meet with you Mae." Connie said staring at me. I sighed and got up. What if it was a mission? I would have to leave. Right before finals too. Andrew looked up at me apologetically as I walked out of the room.

When I arrived at the door of Ms.Romulie's office I had to knock twice before her servant opened the door. I sauntered in and plopped myself in the chair beside her desk. Ms.Romulie looked elegant like always, wearing a dark blue gown.

"Now, Mahogany you are probably wondering why I have summoned you here today." Ms.Romulie said, I replied with a nod.

"Well, I know that you have been studying up on the history of assassins."
