I whipped the door open and marched inside.

"Karena!" I yelled. I heard a noise in the bedroom and I walked towards the sound.

"What's up Mae?" Karena asked, coming out of my bedroom with a laundry basket.

"You and Nico?" I asked pointedly. I wasn't angry just confused at why she didn't tell me.

"Mae, I can explain."

"Good, I've got time. Sit." I said. We plopped onto the couch and I made her face me. "Why didn't you tell me? I feel so horrible about doing this to you."

"Mae. What Nico and I had, that was a long time ago. He doesn't even feel the same way as me anymore."

"Karena, what you had was love! He told me about his father and he did that to save you."

"What do you mean?"

"His father knew that you guys had something between you and couldn't let that happen. He told Nico that he would kill you and fire your mother. That's where your mother is right? Back in Liechtenstein? So Nico lied, he lied to you about how he felt because he couldn't let you die." I exclaimed, my voice rising at the end. Karena's jaw dropped lower than mine had and a tear slid down her cheek. She didn't say anything and neither did I. She slid closer to me and rest her head on my shoulder.

"How do you know? When you are in love with someone I mean." I asked, my voice hushed to a whisper. I heard Karena sniffle beside me.

"You'll know when you're in love with someone when you feel like your whole body is on fire when you're close. Your stomach ties up in knots when they speak. When you look at them you want to lose yourself." She said, her tears dried up.

"Karena." I said, panic rising in my throat.

"What?"

"I'm not in love with him." I said, stunned.

"Who?"

"Andrew. I love him, but I'm not in love with him." I whispered.

"Oh Mae. That's okay, he'll understand." Karena said, pulling her head up from my shoulder.

"What am I going to do?"

"Well when is he coming to visit again?"

"How did you know he visited me?"

"I heard." Karena said smirking.

"He's supposed to come tomorrow. He said he had something he needed to do."

"So tell him then." Karena offered. I nodded and smiled.

"Yeah, you're right. I just have to tell him." I said, standing up. I walked over to my bed and flopped down. All I have to do is get through the ball and then I can see Andrew.

Sorry this parts short, next one should be longer.
