Nico and I made it to the dining room after everyone else had left. Glenda was cleaning up plates and glanced up when we arrived.

"Mahogany? Miss lunch again?" Glenda asked incredulously.

"Yeah. Sorry about that by the way. We can make our own lunch if that helps any." I offered, marching off the kitchen with Nico in tow.

"Do you like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches?" Nico asked. I gave him a look and he laughed. "What?! It's the only thing I can make."

"How about we make a pizza or something." I suggested, pulling open the fridge. I found shredded cheese, pizza sauce and a package of ham. I threw the food on the table and grabbed a knife from the counter.

"We just need pita bread or something to use as the crust." I said, surveying the kitchen with my hands on my hips.

"Found something!" Nico screeched from the cupboard. He whipped out a loaf of bread.

"Bread pizza? Really?" I said, rolling my eyes. He shrugged and started spreading pizza sauce on the slices of bread.

"Can you turn on the broiler?" He asked, pointing towards the newer oven. I did as told and started spreading cheese over the slices of bread with sauce on them. We got a good system going and we had whipped 4 slices of bread pizza into the oven and out in under 20 minutes. We sat at the dining table by ourselves and eating our lunch.

"So you're saying your brothers shoved you down the laundry chute because you ate their food?" I asked, laughing so hard I almost spat out the water in my mouth.

"Yup." Nico chuckled. "What about you? siblings?"

"Nope, only child. Although I do consider my best friend Connie my sister."

"Can I ask you something?" Nico asked, suddenly getting very serious.

"Shoot."

"Are you in love with him. Your boyfriend."

"I don't know what love is supposed to feel like." I whispered.

"You'll know it when you experience it."

"What about you?"

"Wellllll, there was one girl." Nico stuttered, his face going red. He ran a hand through his golden hair in nervousness.

"Spill it Nico!" I screeched.

"Shhhh." He shushed me. "Her name was Karena, she came and visited our palace with her mother a few years ago. God she was beautiful Mahogany, she had this perfect olive skin and dark hair. She worked in the kitchen for six months with her mother and I met her one night at a ball. We started hanging out and I developed feelings for her. My father then told me that I couldn't have a relationship with her because she was a servant. I got angry and rebelled, I made a mistake and put her life in danger. My father was going to fire her mother and kill her and I couldn't let that happen. So I told her to leave, I told her I didn't love her and the next day she was gone. I haven't seen her since then." My jaw dropped about a foot. Is he talking about my ladies made Karena?.

"Sorry Nico, I'm feeling tired. I think I'm going to go to my room. I'll see you at dinner or later tonight." I said quickly before almost running out of the room and to my bedroom.

Didn't see that coming did ya? ;) next part will be out shortly :)
