Secret Below The Surface

Chapter 1

● Rin's P.O.V. ●

"Dad! Dad! Dad! Did you see it? Did you see the merman?" I didn't think they were real but what I just saw proves it! "Really Bud? That's so cool. Dinner is almost ready so go get Gou and we'll eat."

We eat dinner and start heading home where mom is waiting for us to return. The sky is dark with grey storm clouds and I have a bad feeling in my gut. It starts raining and thundering, we need to get to shore and fast...

My dad died twelve years ago, it's lucky I was saved by the merman with ocean blue eyes.

° Haru's P.O.V. °

"Come on Haru it's about time." Makoto calls out to me for the third time. I've already surfaced a few hours ago to see a boat on the water.

Everytime this year the humans shoot off fireworks. Ever since I met Nagisa we haven't missed a year yet.

We surface only to be met with a storm. Lightning is filling the sky. The boat I saw before is still out on the water, if it doesn't get in soon it will be wrecked.

Lightning struck the boat and it's caught on fire. I've got to do something, I can't just let them die!

So I swim to the young boy with red hair and pick him up. "Nagisa get the little girl, Makoto try to save the dad, then start swimming to shore."

"Haru, you know we're not supposed to save humans. We'll be banished if they find out!" Makoto screams to me. "MAKOTO! JUST DO IT!"

I get to the beach before Nagisa and Makoto. 'I wonder what your name is.' I think to myself. I stay with the boy until he starts to wake up.

"W-who are you?" I stare at him taking in his features. Then I remember I'm not allowed to have any contact with humans so I dive back into the sea.

All that was 12 years ago, I wonder if the boy with shark teeth remembers.

So that's chapter 1 of my first book! I hope it's okay. I just wanted to say I will be calling Gou Kou since that is what she wants to be called in the anime, the only reason I called her Gou in the beginning is bc she is younger and didn't change her name yet. And Rin and Haru are 17 in the present time they were five when the boat sank. So Bye!!!!
