Secret Below The Surface

Chapter 4

° Haru's P.O.V °

I arrive back home and the first thing Makoto says to me is, "Haru, do you know what could've happened?" I roll my eyes and sit down on the bed.

"What Makoto meant was how'd it go?" I turn to look at Nagisa rolling on the floor waiting for me to answer. "It went okay, and I can tell you that this necklace works." And her comes Makoto's freak out in 3, 2, 1.

"I can't belive you actually tried it, Haru. What would've happened to you if it didn't work. Nevermind, I don't want to think about it." Makoto may worry a lot but it's only because he cares so much about us.

"I went up to him said hi told him I was Haru and he wants me to come back tomorrow." I tell them calmly hoping Nagisa will let me borrow the necklace again.

"Haru-chan can we come, pretty please?" Nagisa starts begging. "Fine but there's only one necklace and he's expecting me to go on land and talk to him. Is it okay if I borrow the necklace again?"

Nagisa says yes and starts dancing around the room. "Hey, did you guys hear about that new kid coming into town? I heard he's around our age and that his name is Rei." Interesting.

▪ Time Skip ▪

"Hi, Rin. What's new?" I ask as I sit down beside him. He looks at me and shrugs. "Is everything okay?" I'm getting a little worried because he wasn't like this yesterday.

"It's nothing. Nothing important anyway." He barely says above a whisper. Now I'm really worried. "Rin, please talk to me."

"I said it was nothing can you just drop it please." I tell him okay and we sit in silence. "Haru, how do you know when you like someone?" I'm taken back by his question.

"I'm not really sure because I've never liked someone like that. I guess you just feel a certain way around them that you can't feel around anybody else. I'm starting to feel that way about someone." I have no idea where all that came from.

"Thanks, Haru. I'm feeling better now, so anything new with you?" He's seemed to calmed down a lot. "Nothing new really. Um, you see those two people out there in the ocean? The one with blond hair and his tall friend." Rin nods trying to get a better look. "Those are my friends. The blond one is Nagisa and the tall one is Makoto."

"HEY, GUYS, THIS IS MY FRIEND RIN. WAVE AND SAY HI." I yell out to them and they do, rin does the same. "Oh, look at the time I've got to go." Rin and I stand up and dust ourselves off.

"See you tomorrow, Haru?" I say sure and head back down the beach, watching to be sure Rin is out of sight, I jump in to go back home.

I went to bed that night with only one thought in my head. Rin, what are you doing to me.
