"Can you pass me that shirt from back there?" Derek points over his shoulder.

I turn and grab the shirt from behind the driver's seat. I see some of his football gear, and assume that he was just coming back from practice. That would explain the dirt smudge I wiped from his face anyway.

"Thanks," he says touching my hand briefly as I hand the blue stripe button-up. It sends tiny tingles over the skin there. Next thing I know he's pulling off the wet t-shirt but my eyes fail me. They look on their own accord, and don't plan on turning away.

Now look who's the creeper.

While buttoning it up, he happens to glance up. He catches me staring and grins. GRINS, the smug little... He knows what he's doing. I'll tell you that. He really knows how to provoke a girl.

Before yesterday, we'd never really spoken. Yet, I've been going to school with him for like almost four years. Sure, we've had a few classes together but we never actually got around to talking. And now the guy tries to kiss me? Okay, I wouldn't have minded, but it's all kind of sudden.

No, I'm not complaining, I'm just evaluating this whole situation. It's really starting to confuse me. It all happened over a span of what a day and a half? Besides the fact that this is escalating kind of fast, he's Jade's brother.

Jade would probably kill me for knowing that I'm mingling with her little brother. As far as I've always known, my heart has ached for Jordan. Now, there's this new guy coming into my life possibly. What to do, what to do.

Derek turns on the car radio to some current music, and asks me where I live. I easily direct him to my house, and in less than five minutes we're there. He pulls up in front, and I see that there's light coming from the living room window. It's probably Chris. Hopefully he took me seriously about what I said yesterday. I don't feel like watching another girl scamper away in humiliation today, or any day for that matter.

I thank Derek, and he nods. I get out of the car, and walk over to the passenger side to grab my basket. I'm just about half way up the driveway to the front door when Derek call out my name. I turn.

"You forgot this!" Derek yells out holding some red fabric between his fingers. No, please no. On instinct, I touch my back pocket that is now just wet. Revealing that in fact Derek is holding out MY underwear. Petrified I run over and snatch it.

"Thanks!" I shove the underwear in the basket, and wave. He's in the middle of waving when I turn to speed walk up the driveway. I hear him laugh softly, but I don't look back. I focus on getting the door open, with luck I get in quick. Through the window I see him drive away with my dignity. So much for him not seeing my undies. I hope he doesn't think I'm a prude.

Why do you even care at all Jasmine?

I don't know why. I walk into the kitchen to find Chris shirtless, and downing a bottle of water.

"Hey Jazz." He says raising his raising.

"Did you go for a run?" I ask putting my basket on the counter.

"Yup. Five miles," Chris says steadying his breathing, evident that he just got home too.

"Impressive...Did you find a job, too?" He rolls his eyes.

"Chill Jazz, I'll find one."

"Fine, fine. No pressure." I open the fridge, and find nothing. Then I check the cupboards, and score a bag of Doritos. Yesssss.

"You're gonna get fat," Chris says eyeing the chips.

"And your gonna be the town man whore if you keep bringing girls home," I fire back.

"Fine by me," he says getting up. I gag, but he ignores it.

"I'm heading to bed, tell mom when she gets home will you." He leaves me there eating my carbs, but I don't care. I need to eat my stress away.

My face burns with the memory of Derek holding my intimates. Tonight, I'm the girl feeling shame, and I didn't even get kissed. :(
