Xander's POV
I have surprised myself these last weeks, when most mates meet they mark each other almost instantly.
Lizzie doesn't understand how much restraint I have had to pull over Ryder, trying to get out and mark Lizzie as ours.
It kills me not being able to claim her as mine. She is my light, my angel in this world.
I sighed. The words just slipped out last night, she probably hates me right now. I brushed my hand down over my face, as I slipped on my shoes and tied them up.
Why did I have to say it out loud?
I wanted to though, no needed to claim her. Every time an unmated male that looked at her in the wrong way blew me off the edge and it took all of my control not to rip their heads off.
Walking out of our room, I headed straight towards my office when James mindlinked me.
'Hey man, how's that mate of yours doing?'
'Liz is doing fine thanks James, has there been any update with the rogue situation and the human hunters that have been camping closer to our borders?'
'Well Alpha, the situation has not improved, they keep massing at the order, but myself and Martin have a pretty good plan in place at the minute, shall we meet in your office to discuss the details?'
'Thanks James, call a meeting, ten minutes in my office.'
Lizzie's POV
I was walking aimlessly around the house. Thinking about what I had said,
Would it really be that bad if he marked me?
These confusing thoughts needed to be answered so I went to the only person who would give me a straight answer and not straight away follow the perverted thoughts of Sapphire and jeer her on (Ashley and Megan).
Charlotte.
That twelve year old always gave me a straight answer, knowing how stubborn I was with making decisions.
I found her playing on a gameboy with some boys, who I think were a little bit older than her. Not really wanting to disrupt what was going on - but being the impatient girl I am, I poked her shoulder and made a hand gesture to follow me.
She followed reluctantly trailing behind me after saying farewell to the boys.
"How's life?"
"It's great Char, but I need some advice...."
"Let me guess..... Alpha Xander wants to mark you but your unsure whether to or not?"
"How did you know?"
"I have my ways.... Ashley told me about your convo yesterday."
"And yes, I think you should do what you think is right, when you are ready."
"Did Ashley tell you to say that?"
"Yes and no, because she has already let's say.... Plunged into the pool, head first..."
"She was marked ages ago, wasn't she?"
With that I left her standing there looking at me with shock.
I was storming my way to find Ashley, when I realised that she was in the same boat as me more or less. So I decided to play a little joke.
