Lizzie's POV

Arrows were flying everywhere and I couldn't really see where I was, the lack of sunlight that drifted down to the forest floor, didn't do much to provide light for seeing with human eyes. My hand was clutching the bow whilst I was shooting it, my hearing guiding the direction of the enemies I was shooting. The rough string was grazing my hand as I tried to hit the rogues, with their blood lusted eyes.

What confused me were the humans amongst the wolves, that were coming on full force towards us. But my eyes widened in recognition of the insignia of the Academy on the uniforms.

At that moment, I steadily moved backwards, one foot behind the other, nervousness rapidly coursing through my veins, I was stuck between two rogues. I couldn't really do anything else apart from to use my training ironically from the Academy to my own advantage.

I did a backflip mid air, grabbing both rogues by the scruffs of their necks and then stamped on both of them, then in turn snapping them in half, killing them. Then I ran back towards the Pack House, worried about everyone else, and more importantly by friend, Ashley.

Momentum had blood racing through my veins at a rapid pulse, but once I reached the pack house I saw that everything was fine.

Suddenly, I got a mind link from Ashley, 'we are in the shelter a ways from the pack house underneath a house, I don't really know what s going on but James is busy fighting and helping the Alpha.'

Once I had checked that everyone was safe, I ran towards the shelter to secure the entrance. Although from a few feet away a saw a strange figure, holding what looked like a canister of some sort. A few minutes later, a gasoline smell filled the air and afterwards was followed by humungous flames thrashing and roaring like hungry lions.

"Ashley!!"

'What Liz, what is it?'

"Get out of there now, quickly! Find a way out please. Someone has set the house on fire!"

"James is going to personally kill me if her and their daughter aren't safe." I muttered.

I got no response, but a few minutes later I heard a rustle in the bushes and a small familiar pregnant figure emerged.

"Ash! I can't believe you are ok! I thought I had lost you!" I said afraid for what might of happened to her, wrapping my arms tightly around her.

"I'm fine really Lizabeth, you shouldn't have worried!" She said, which came out muddled through my hair from where I pulled her into a hug, which proved very difficult though because of her protruding stomach.

I lead her through the woods to the treehouse and helped her up, and left her there after exchanging a few words, before I set off again, back towards to where the battle was taking place, although the eerie silence was still haunting me as I rubbed my right hand up and down my left arm in order to find some semblance of comfort. I guess sometimes the tough girl has to play soft, but now was not one of those moments as a large wolf emerged from the forest, and then collapsed to the ground. I ran over to it, to make sure it wasn't a rogue but those eyes were strangely familiar, the strangely familiar blue storm grey eyes,  I would know from anywhere, it was Xander.

I nodded my head towards him and mind linked Megan'Megan, how is the rogue situation doing?' I asked.

'It's going alright, there is only one left that your mate is facing and you may not like it but we need your help!' she replied.

"I know, Xander's with me now, and by the various dots of red in the night I think we are completely surrounded by rogues." I yelled through the link, still scared of what might happen.

They came towards us, from their crouching positions all but ready to pounce on us, any other situation, on any other day I would laugh at what was happening right now; but they had ruined my friends baby shower, for Christ's sake! I thought this was the lot of them as Xander and I had each other's backs and took on one by one. I saw something in the distance, it was a girl with long blonde hair, who raised her finger to their mouth to keep quiet. I pretended not to see anything and refocused my attention on the matter at hand.

Suddenly, what felt like a shock wave was sent towards us stunning me and everyone around me. But what seemed peculiar was the previously growling rogues were dropping dead like flies.

Then with a flurry of blonde curls and a twirl of a white collared dress and she was gone.

I stood up not knowing what else to do and walked towards Xander who was already standing up by the time I got there.

"Are you okay, love?" He whispered with his head in my neck sniffing my scent.

"I think I'm ok, but did you see that girl? I could have sworn that she looks similar to someone I know." I said still a tad confused.

"I didn't but do you want to go home? I know I do." He replied.

"Xander, you see that's the problem, the house that was the shelter Ashley was hiding in was burnt to the ground, we may have to make the Pack House our permanent address for the time being." I said worried what he might do.

"It's fine love, we'll find a way around it, temporary accommodation, but that means," he then bent down and whispered in my ear "we have to be quieter." He chuckled at his own statement.

"You are a weirdo, you know?" I said trying to look up at him, but failing drastically. With his 6'5 height and my 5'6.

He chuckled again at my statement and suddenly scooped me into his arms and carried me to the pack house.

That night me and Xander cuddled and told things to each other, as if it was just another night. Except it wasn't, really we had just faced a lot of rogues and it was took quite a toll on us.

"Xander, I have to tell you something but I'm afraid you will not like it." I said the nervousness taking a toll on my quivering lip.

"Whatever you have to tell me love, I will always support you no matter what, I love you." He said his face now parallel with mine and his eyes full of love and admiration.

"Alex, those people ... I have never seen them before, but the insignia before ... I ... was one of them." I whispered.
