Chapter 8

Finally they left, I couldn't tell if I managed to scare them off or not. Em put a hand on my shoulder.

"See it's not that hard, is it? Come on we have to go to assembly, some notice or other,"

I rolled my eyes I hadn't scared them off after all.

Professor Dovey walked in along with Lady Lesso. They smiled.

"As you most of you know the annual Ever Snow Ball is coming up," said Professor Dovey began all the Nevers groaned, so did I earning me weird looks from the people around me.

"But this year, we have decided that the Never's will be joining in too," continued Lady Lesso. It was the Evers turn to groaned. I groaned too, that meant Sebastian. The two professors continued but I had tuned out already my thoughts were on Sebastian.

I was in Idris, thirteen. Soaking wet from rain and missing the fairy courts. Suddenly a boy appeared in front of me, he introduced himself as Jonathan but apparently he preferred the name Sebastian. He took me to a hollow tree on Brocelind Plain and brought me some blankets. Then he left, telling me his father would wonder where he was and then he would get in trouble...

Suddenly everyone began to move, I snapped to attention and ran up to the dorm before I got crushed by excited girls. Em and Lil came in chatting excitedly.

"Can't believe they let those stinky Nevers come to our ball," Lil complained. That made me think of Sebastian, he didn't smell, he always smelt of strawberry laces... "Ashley! Did you hear a word I just said?" I jumped, it was Lil.

"Uhhh... Something about stinky Nevers?..." I trailed off.

"I asked you what you were going to wear."

"Oh, uh I have no idea..." I really didn't.

"Well, you better dress up. That means a dress Ashley. You'd better start planning it is 3 WEEKS!!!!!" Em told me, I swear she was like a mom sometimes.

I put my jammies on and lay down. But sleep was impossible, it was long after Em and Lil had fallen asleep that I finally decided to stretch my legs. I went to the window, the wind blowing my hair. And the He was. Sebastian, looking straight at me. He gave me a small smile and wave, not a smirk but a real smile like he used to give me. I raised my hand in return a tiny smile on my lips, his broke into a grin. He beckoned to me. I gave a confused look. He snapped his fingers. I still looked at him confused. Then I realised, he meant use my magic. I decided to risk it, I mean if you never take chances nothing happens, right? I closed my eyes and envisioned myself in the room with him. And there I was, I opened my eyes and suddenly his lips were on mine at first soft, hesitant but when I kissed back it became deeper, wilder, free. We kissed for a few minutes until we broke apart looking deep into each others eyes.

"I've missed you Ashley" he breathed.

"Me too" And I leaned up and kissed him again we stood there for a good half hour until we heard one of his room mates say

"Sebastian, you awake?" Luckily he couldn't see us, I gave Sebastian a quick kiss and went back to my room. I heard him say
"Yeah, dude, I was hot" and then I was back by the window watching him turn away giving me one last wave...
