Neil met Matilda Locket on the 3rd of October, 2004. Neil was currently applying for a job in Paris at the time, and he just happened to be on his lunch break, residing in a small cafe (not too far from the eiffel tower). He was drinking an espresso, staring at his laptop, waiting for it to load the page when a beautiful girl with flowing blonde hair, down to her waist, and a large straw hat covering her eyes walked in.
She walked up to the counter and fumbled, looking through her purse for the right change. Neil seemed overcome by what he could only imagine as being the spirit of the universe, and stood up and handed the cashier a three Euros. She looked up for a moment, an gives him a dazzling smile.
"Thanks!" She beams, her cheeks crinkling up her light freckles, making her black glasses slightly lopsided. Her eyes were beautiful. Neil gazed with his own bright blues, to her emeralds.
"It's no big deal... say, do you come by here often?" She giggled a sheepish laugh, and said she lived just across he street, so she often came here for lunch. After that Neil went to that cafe for lunch, every day for 2 years straight.
He was only 18 when he walked in there on September the 29th, 2006. She smiled at him as he sat down across from her,
"Your late sweetheart, work again?"
The ring in Neil's pocket was weighing him down slightly to the left.
"It wasn't exactly work.." He smiles, his dark hair slightly covering his left eye. They'd been dating for a year and a half now. It was probably too soon but he was always one to seize the moment.
''Listen babe, can we go on a walk? I have a question.." She looks slightly surprised, but then, almost as if she knew what it was, smiled a sweet smile.
"I'd love to."
