Neil Brown was called in 3 times by the Police. The first time Neil pleaded innocent. He said he had no connection to a man named 'Neil Redtown", and they had no evidence to prove otherwise. When they said they did, his lawyer told him to remain silent.
The second time was a lot different.
"I don't see why I'm here.." Neil started. He hadn't brought a lawyer this time. He didn't know why, but Matilda had told him not to, and although he didn't love her as a wife, he trusted her.
"Because we know your guilty. All you have to is confess." The interrogator was a sturdy man, with a combover and a long ginger moustache, stretching down to his non-existent-chin.
"Well I'm not. Face the death penalty for something I didn't do? No thank you. Besides, somebody already confessed to killing the poor family!" It hurt him to lie, but Neil had to remain strong. He still had so much good to do.
"Well we thought that Jake Wilson did kill them, but on further investigation, your fingerprints were found on each and every murder weapon."
Neil flinched. How could he lie? He was drunk, obviously he didn't wear gloves.
"I'm not sure what to tell you.. We're no other fingerprints found?" Neil tried his best to sound genuinely confused, but for once his acting just wasn't good enough.
"No. Not any from outside the Redtown family. However on the beer bottle, used to smash the youngest child's head- Are you ok sir?" After hearing about Grayson, Neil had banged his fist against the table, and glared up at the man.
"I do not need to hear it. I'm leaving."
Neil got up and left the interrogation room.
