I don't know who to believe,
You say his sins just like a creed.
When your actions are frowned upon,
you take it out on my until dawn.
Please just stop, I can't take it anymore!
I'm really about to walk out the door.
Your words, cut deeper than any knife,
They leave me with no signs of life.
But I put on a mask,
It's not such a hard task,
Once you master the skill,
then go in for the kill.
No one would know I'm the black duckling,
I paint myself yellow, and try to sing.
I've perfected my voice,
Not of my choice.
Everyone would hurt if they knew,
If only they saw the real, true you.
How can you say that, about my own father?
You must forget, I am his daughter.
To me, he's still the perfect hero.
Catching me when I fall to ground zero.
Take it out of your pillow,
I'll go sit under the willow.
Then we can pretend everything is fine,
Just don't cross the invisible line.
It separeates sanity,
From the vanity.
You think you help me make my choice,
But you only make my eyes grow moist.
I know it's not what you mean to do,
But ive called you out, told you not to.
Just except the fact she is my friend,
Maybe in time, we will make amends.
you clearly don't see how selfish you are,
You keep me locked up, inside a jar.
Then let me out at night,
Then open your mind to my fright.
You make me listen to you call them names,
You push me out into the fame.
The spotlights on me,
Somewhere I don't want to be.
In the middle of two snakes at war,
I wish i had wings so I could soar.
Above this madness,
Away, to my happiness.
You pretend to care,
But it's not very fair,
For you to do that to me,
Then leave me be.
Just go away,
I'm never okay.
