Chapter 10: Exceptions

Wow, watching Ash and Max battle one other is really cool and interesting. Hard to believe that Ash is actually my brother. I noticed Serena looking at the battle and it was quite oblivious to me that she likes him. I said, "So Serena, you like my brother, huh?" Serena was blushing furiously and said, "It's not your business!" I winked at Bonnie, "Ash can be so dense, isn't he?" Bonnie grinned, "What you expect?" Brock asked, "Emily, Bonnie, what you guys talking about?" I sighed, "Well, you guys are the same."

Whoa, a Goodra? Since when Ash had one? Lucario looks at me waiting for a command, knowing that we can defeat Ash and his battling style. "Lucario, use Aura Sphere!" The Aura Pokemon obeys my command and Ash yelled, "Goodra, use your tail to block it!" The Pokemon uses its tail and was not hurt by the attack. I said, "Impressive." Ash grinned, "There's more than that, Max. I seen that you trained your Pokemon well for this battle." I nodded, "You're not bad yourself, Ash." Ash said, "All right, the real battle begins now!" I chuckled because that is what Ash would say. "Lucario, use Bone Crush!" I said. Ash was waiting for this. What he thinking?

I waited for the right moment to use Dragon Pulse because I knew Lucario wouldn't stand against a powerful move like that. The Aura Pokemon came and uses Bone Crush, just like I hoped it would. Max was wondering why I wouldn't move Goodra. Clement sees where I was going with this, he said, thinking, "Very clever thinking, Ash." Brock looks at the young Gym leader, "What you mean, Clement?" Emily was confused as well. "Yeah, what you mean by "Very clever?" Did Ash planned this ahead?" Serena said, "I think you're right about that, Emily. Goodra is a very strong Pokemon. Ash knew that, and he knew what Goodra's attack moves are. I wouldn't be that surprised at all." Emily looks at the battlefield and at me. Emily and the others were up for a big surprise. "All right, Goodra, use Dragon Pulse on Lucario, let's go!" Emily gasp in awe and May said, "That's a powerful move!" Brock said, "I didn't know that Goodra can use Dragon Pulse! That's very sneaky, and I bet Ash knew it all along and waited for the moment to use the attack." Max saw how much damage that Lucario had, and said, "Lucario, can you still battle?" He got up and I was amazed that the Aura Pokemon can still battle. I grinned, "I thought that I had you guys beat. I guess not." Max pulled up his glasses, "Well, what you expect from an old friend?" I laughed, "I guess you had a point there, Max."
