Flashback

"Hey!" I shouted.

He turned around shocked but his veins still popping suggesting he was still angry.

I walked towards him.

People gasped, "She's going to get herself in trouble." I ignored the comment.

At least I'm not acting like it's perfectly fine for a man to verbally abuse and attempt to hit his wife senselessly in front of a cafe.

"What do you want?" He turned towards me showing his muscles, and his fists.

"If a guy where to hit a girl wouldn't it be fair if the girl hit the guy too." I said coldly.

"What? Hey kid get out of my face, before I make you." He said irritated.

I stood my ground and rolled my eyes.

"Are you dumb or where you just born like this? Didn't your mother teach you to never hit girls." I said indifferently.

I'm getting irritated now.

He was furious I could tell. He fisted his hands making his veins pop up even more if that was even possible.

"Kid, don't make me repeat myself, Go away!" He said menacingly.

I looked back at the woman who was staring at me, eyes wide. My expression softened. She was beautiful except for that bruise on her cheek that was meant to be covered by make-up. Her tears had washed away her foundation.

She nodded at me and mouthed "I'm fine, please go."

I looked back up at the guy who had dared to hit a girl. My expression turned to stone.

Assh***

I shrugged, "I guess it can't be helped." I said as I styled my hair into a ponytail. I heard everyone around me sigh in relief.

He smiled benevolently. I stuck my hands in my back pockets.

I looked at the man and grinned, "You're going to have to make me."

I heard a guy nearby say, "She's dead, let's go." I mentally rolled my eyes at the guy that had spoken.

The man swore, then he charged me.

I allowed him to get close enough until at the last second I side stepped him.

He swore again, "Another dollar for the swear jar, young man." I playfully frowned and mocked him.

This is fun.

He stood up behind me but before he could fully stand over me, with all my might I kicked him where the sun don't shine.

He grunted and fell to his knees protecting his manhood. I kneeled down close to his ear, "My mother works for the government, so I will now if you ever hit a woman, don't you dare even think about trying this charade again, because if you do I will personally hunt you down. Oh and also don't even think about approaching this woman again. OK?"

He grunted.

"I'm sorry what was that?" I asked coldly.

"Ok" he rasped.

I took my hands out of my pockets and turned towards the woman who was looking at me her eyes wide. I walked towards her cautiously.

"Do I need to take you to the hospital?" I asked.
She looked at me after peeling her eyes away from the guy who had terrorized her.

She looked at me with gratitude, "Oh- Oh no. I'll be f- fine... Thanks to you." She said relieved.

I smiled, "I suggest you go home, and take everything you have and walk away. Not all guys are douchebags but you can never be too careful. Go on I'll make sure you leave first." I waited for her to gather her stuff and run past her future ex who was still kneeling. I sat where she had been for a couple of minutes, to make sure she got into a taxi, then I stood up and pushed the chair in. I stopped before the guy who was regaining his posture. "Stay away from her or I will find you. I already have your license plate number. Have a nice day, sir." I lied.

Then I walked away.

My first day here and I'm already finding trouble.
