You had me at hello- chapter four

Every time Jai drove me to work I would wonder what it would be like to walk there...turns out it was harder than I thought.

After my 'little run in' with Kyle back at the café, I wasn't really in the mood to get Jai to pick me up where I predicted I would get a massive lecture the whole 30 minutes home. It was nice that he cared for me an all but right now...I need to sort my own life out, on my own.

"Kaylea? Kaylea is that you?" I turned around to see a pink mini cooper pulling up beside me.

"Mellissa!" she jumped out of the car and literally leaped into my arms, nearly causing me to fall down. "Mel...can't...breathe!" she let go, thank god.

"oh sorry" she shrieked "what are you doing?"

"Umm walking...home" I innocently smiled knowing she would freak out

"Home! why? its so far away" she said, looking off into the distance a little dramatically. Sort of like in the movies when the captain of his boat looks out into the ocean when you know nothing is going to be there but water. Gee this girl is such a drama queen. I laughed waving my hand in front of her face to refocus her vision.

"hehe oh sorry, so...wanna ride?" she smiled

"ahh yes please...it's been so long Mel I've missed you so much"

See Melissa is sort of like my long lost friend. We've known each other for so long but she's been home schooled all her life, so I hardly get to see her.

We were sitting in the car out the front of my house, not moving, not talking...just sitting there. It's never been so awkward between me and Mel before.

"Sooo..." yay finally she spoke, thank the lord "I know this is gonna sound stupid but...the only reason I drove past you today was because I followed you..." wait what.

"Umm" what the heck.

"I saw you and Kyle at the café today" hehe makes more sense. "I saw everything Kaylea" she bought her hand up, almost making me flinch but then she brought it to my face, lining where Kyle had hit me...

"Mel"

"How could he do this to you?" I could see the tears forming in her eyes. Melissa was a beautiful girl, but lets just say she was sort of going through the late rebellious stage. Her hair was pink, although it did suit her. "the last time I saw you guys...you were perfect together"

I missed that.

"Yeah he's just...changed." I tried to keep the tears back but that wasn't so easy when your sitting in a silent car, letting every memory run through your head.

"So!" this made me jump "How's the sexy beast going?"

"Umm?"

"Jai you idiot" she laughed and poked her tongue out. oh.

"Yeah, well..." thinking about what has been happening in the past few weeks.

"Really good, I might go see him tonight actually" I smiled

"Oh really...and, what are you gonna DO when you see him?" she winked

"Melissa no! eww..." I shook the thoughts out of my head. "So, I'll see you later okay" I leaned over and gave her a hug...mind you it was very awkward because we were still in the car. I jumped out and started jogging for the front door. I'm free.

"What the hell was that?" I don't like staying home alone at night...I was gonna go to Jai's but I realised I had no way of getting there and I feel bad now making Jai my taxi every other day. I was lying on my bed just watching some tv (the noise made me a little less scared) when I heard a tapping noise. A thousand murder scenes flashed through my head at once making e pull the blanket over my head. Wait...how the hell will this stop a killer from stabbing me to death, hmm it's worth a try. The tapping noise kept coming and then I realised it was coming from the window. Then my phone rang, making me almost crap myself.

"hello?" I whispered

"Kaylea get out from underneath the blankets" see I knew he read minds! "and open the damn window! I'm freezing my arse off out here" hehe Jai

I threw my blankets off and decided to take my time walking over to the window. Once I got to the window I looked outside and saw Jai standing on the grass, only in jeans and a t-shirt basically hugging himself. I could tell he was cold because him shivering was as if there was an earthquake. I tapped on the window and mouthed the words 'it's locked, I need to find the key'. He looked like he wanted to kill me. While I pranced around my room for fun laughing at the fact that my window doesn't actually have a lock on it (unsafe, yes I know), Jai had climbed the tree outside my window waiting for me to 'unlock it'. After ten minutes, freezing his butt off, he leaned over and pushed the window open.

"Kaylea..." he stepped through the window, closing it behind him.

"hehe sorry...I thought it was pretty funny, you know you could've just taken the front door-"

"Guess what?" I'm scared, he took a step closer.

"What?..." he raised his hand and placed it on my cheek...at first I thought he was gonna be like 'oh yeah, I saw you and Kyle today at the café "Freaking hell Jai! your hands are freezing!" he smirked

"That's what I was aiming for" he lowered his hand slowly brushing it down my cheek and down my arm, sending shivers through my body...not necessarily from the cold.

"Jai" he kept going, eventually both of his hands were at my waist pulling me slowly towards him. What seemed like after a few hours, my body finally touched his,the fact that he was freezing cold left my mind. He had one hand holding my lower back and the other now holding the back of my neck. I looked up and our eyes met. "Jai"
