Prologue













"Hello..."




"What do you want?" My tone came out harsh but I don't worry about that anymore.




"I saw you sitting over here by yourself and thought I could keep you company" I could hear all the voices surrounding us in the school cafeteria but I couldn't pull my eyes away from his face. His eyes were such a distraction, the bright blue of them made me enter into a world of my own. But his charm couldn't fool me.




"No thanks, i'd rather you not." I felt as if my reply was abrupt. His reaction was shocked, but that didn't make him move.




"I'm not going to move, you know this feistiness brings out the best in you." And he smirked, this was not his real smile. I stood up from my seat and stormed off. I was only a few feet away when I heard a low chuckle. I peaked over my shoulder and saw him laughing.




"What's your problem?..."




"Jai, the names Jai" he stood up and walked towards my direction, he came to a quick halt and we were close enough that we were almost touching. Looking straight ahead I saw his chest, I had to look up a bit to see his face. I'm pretty sure his hair made him taller, yep, definitely his hair. It was short and a very dark brown, almost black but it was still spiked up. He leaned in close to my face and it gave me goose-bumps. He balanced himself by placing one of his hands on my shoulder.




"You left your bag over there" he whispered into my ear. He lifted his head back and out came a laugh. The whole cafeteria then seemed to be laughing and I was in the middle of it.




"Argh!" I felt so embarrassed but I tried not to show it. "Thanks..." That was the last thing I wanted to say to Jai, I just wanted to punch him in the face. I slowly walked back to the table and threw my bag over my shoulder. I started to head for the door and I felt every single set of eyes, on me.

I hate that creepy feeling you get when you know someone is watching you but you don't know who it is. Ok. Now I know who it is.




"I'm sorry if I embarrassed you..." Shivers ran up and down my spine as I placed my books in my locker, I slammed it shut and spun around, my blonde ponytail flicking the side of my cheek.




"If!" I shouted "really? I hardly even know you and you've already somehow accomplished to embarrass me in front of the whole entire bloody school!"




"I said I was sorry Kay-Kay, I didn't mean it...forgive me?" A grin took over the sadness on his face "please"




"Kay-Kay!...Kay-Kay!" I yelled "one, don't call me Kay-Kay, that is not my name! two, you don't even know me!" I must've looked like I wanted to kill him.




"I guess now isn't a good time to give your phone back then hey?" He held his hand out and of course...it cupped my phone. I clenched my fists by my sides and my jaw tightened. I snatched my phone and walked off, leaving Jai looking confused.

The rest of the day went as slow as it could...with trying to ignore Jai and all. I guess I didn't do a very good job though since he's in every single one of my classes.




"What's up Kay-Kay?" I glared at him




"Do you have a death wish? Because I can make it come true if you wanted"




"Well..." Carrying the l "someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed."




Thinking of the 'bad boy' Jai is...

"At least I woke up in my own bed" that smirk again. Damn that smirk. Out of all the desks in the classroom, today, Jai sat next to me. This caused a lot of whispers and dirty looks from all the girl who usually bow before Jai and beg for attention. He shifted closer, making me freeze.




"Why don't you like me Kay-Kay?" For the third time today, I let this one slip. If it weren't for his amazingly good looks...I would punch him in the face.




"I never said I don't like-"




"Well you sure as hell act like it" he cut me off. He just cut me off. "You may as well give up now because eventually...you are going to fall for me as hard as all these other girls have" he smirked again, this time letting out a little chuckle. What a complete jerk!




The grade A student I am, or should I say 'nerd' like every one else does, I looked towards the lecturer and continued scribbling down notes in my handbook. I was not letting him and those gorgeous blue eyes get to me.




"Kaylea" he whispered, finally! the genius got my name right. I looked at him. He smiled. "Call me if you need me" and winked. Who does he think he is? Seriously.




I took out my phone, something I usually wouldn't dare to do in class. Scrolling through my contacts to the 'J' section, his name was not found. There must've been a confused look on my face.




"Keep going" he said

I scrolled further through my phone rolling my eyes. 'Sexy men, what can you do without em?' This contact was not here before.




"Really Jai?" Contact...deleted.




"Hey! why'd you do that?" Jai half shouted causing a few people to turn around and look at us.




"Kaylea! Jai! ...detention!"
