"Well, what is it?" Seth asks.
"I don't know how you'll react considering the situation..." I trail off.
"What do you mean?" He asks.
I sigh. "You have Rebecca."
"Rebecca? What does she have to do with what's going on?" He gives me a confused look.
"She's part of the reason why I can't say anything." I admit.
"What? Why? It's not like Rebecca is my girlfriend or anything."
"What..?" I trail off again.
"Rebecca and I aren't seeing each other." He chuckles. "We just hooked up, that's it. But she has gotten really clingy. She acts like I'm all her's but I'm not." Seth rolls his eyes.
"You don't like Rebecca...?"
He laughs. "No, I do not have feelings for Rebecca. I got my eye on someone else." He looks down, smiling to himself.
Wow, this girl is really lucky. "Who is she?" I ask.
"I don't know how she feels, so until then, I won't say."
"She must be really amazing to have you falling head over heels for her.." I admit.
"Yeah, she is amazing and beautiful and smart and.... She's everything I could ever want in a girl." He sighs, dreamily.
What am I supposed to say now? I can't say I like him because he's fawning over someone else. That girl can't be me because I'm none of those things. Smart? Yeah, but beautiful and amazing? No way. Yeah I got prettier, but beautiful? I don't think I go that far.
"That's great, Seth. I'm happy for you." I force out a smile.
"Thanks, Joy. But what's going on? Thanks for sidetracking me." He says sarcastically.
"Rebecca told me to stay away." I partially lie. Yeah, she did tell me to step off from Seth a couple days ago. Didn't really think it was that important to mention. But that's not the reason why I stepped away..
"What?" He asks, shocked.
"She said that you are her's and that I'm just ruining your so called 'relationship' with her." I explain.
"So what'd you say?" He raises an eyebrow.
Knowing that I changed, whatever I say to some people are just unpredictable.
"I just told her that desperation doesn't get you anywhere and if she's so insecure about me ruining her relationship with you, it shows that her so called relationship is unstable, meaning that she's scared of you breaking up with her cheap, desperate ass." I shrug nonchalantly.
Seth stands there, shocked before bursting out laughing. I roll my eyes. That's how Alexis and Angelina reacted when I told them what I said.
He sobered up then cleared his throat. "Joy, I never thought you would ever step up to one of the most intimidating girls this school has seen."
"Well, people change."
"So that's it? Because Rebecca told you to stay away? But you, basically, told her you weren't going to listen." He gives me a questioning look.
