"Why are you wearing your sporty clothes?" Touka asked as Yasuko was running down the stairs if their apartment. When she heard her voice, she froze.
"Aren't you sleeping?" Yasuko asked her.
"I couldn't sleep so I made me some coffee."
"Does it have anything to do with the guy in :re?"
Touka took a sip of her coffee without answering, and Yasuko was now sure that she was concerned about that investigator.
"You noticed it too. That he looked just like Kan-"
"Can we please not talk about it?" Touka interrupted her. Yasuko nodded and looked at her. Her hands were shaking. Was she ok? Then Touka sighed. "Anyway, where are you going? You didn't answer."
"Um... jogging?"
"At 1 a.m? It's dark outside!"
"The fresh air will do me good."
"Are you sure you're not hiding anything?" Touka was now standing only a little away from her, looking straight at her eyes, her hands folded.
"Yes, don't worry, you go sleep. I'll be back in no time," Yasuko lied, trying to sound as convincing as possible. And thankfully, Touka fell for it, took her cup of coffee and went upstairs.
That was close.

Yasuko fell on the ground, feeling the road piercing through her skin, although something like that would be impossible as she was a ghoul. The countless attacks from Ayato's kagune had exhausted her and she couldn't move.
"That's all you could do? God, you're even weaker than I thought..." Ayato murmured and walked away from her.
I...I am n-not w-weak...
And like that, she activated her kagune and attacked Ayato. He let a cry of pain and fell down, blood coming out of his mouth. She walked towards him with stumbling steps.
"I had forgotten that you were quite the smart one," Ayato told her and stood up. "Let's see now that you woke up if you're good with defence!"
Although with difficulty, she managed to avoid the attacks from the spears his Ukaku launched. Only the last one hit her and scratched her hand.
"That was good, but always focus on your opponent. The last attack may decide whether you live or die." He stopped for a little and gave her a grin. "It's difficult for us to fight since we both have an Ukaku, I think it would be better if you trained with someone else." And then Hinami came in and waved at Yasuko.
"Hey Yasuko-chan, it's been a while." Yasuko couldn't help herself but run and hug the girl.
"You've grown up so much! And you are so beautiful!" Yasuko turned and looked at Ayato. "And someone here told me that you are really strong."
"Thanks, I practice a lot."
"I'll leave you two alone. If you need anything just shout," Ayato said and left the room.
"So, shall we start?" Hinami suggested and activated her Rinkaku. It would be the first time Yasuko would ever need to fight a friend, but it sure wouldn't be like a battle. It was just training right?
But then Hinami's Rinkaku pierced through her belly and Yasuko lost her balance. She hadn't excpected such a quick and strong attack. She stood up and fought back with all her strength.
