Chapter 3
(Please note that even though there will be short chapters, there will be a lot of chapters! )
I ran my hand through my dark hair and threw my shirt on the floor. I slipped into the warm bathtub and started to wash myself and think. I could finally relax without worrying about Ella. Ella. Such a nice girl, If only she didn't agree with me. She's probably dead by now anyway, or at least in a juvenile detention center. I dried myself off and threw some clothes on. Sitting behind my laptop, I looked up the crime investigation for Jason out of curiosity. Jason's dead, Mr. Barkley killed him?! Wait a second, Ella did! That sneaky girl, that liar! That's not what happened at all! I need to find her and tell them the truth before its too late! She must've gone south for the winter. The only town that was the closest to here in Creek County was Cadaverville...

Proud of the lie I told to keep Ella safe, I headed to my house and laid down, thinking over the information I had found out recently. I doubted Ella was actually murdered. She's a survivor. Mr. Barkley killed Ella? Even after thinking over a good lie, It still didn't add up. What could be his motive? Just because a ten-year old girl killed a teacher, his wife? It wasn't making any sense. The whole "getting revenge" thing was out of control at this point. I dialed Jen's phone number.
"Jen speaking."
"Hey, do you think you can come over?" There was a slight pause.
"I'll see."
Ten minutes later, Jen showed up at Rachelle's doorstep.
"What's the matter? You usually don't call me over unless something's wrong..."
"We need to talk." Jen frowned.
"What's wrong?"
"Can you keep a secret?" Rahcelle asked, cautiously.
"Sure! Is it a crush?"
"No... It's about a murder." Silence. Rachelle didn't want to look at Jen at the moment. What was she thinking?
"Are you talking about what I think you are...?"
"Yes. You know the girl who supposedly murdered a boy named Jason? Ella?" Jen nodded.
"She was my best friend."
"Cool!"
"No, that's not cool!"
"She just killed him, just like that? And she's ten years old?"
"Yes, Jen-"
"That's awful! I hope they catch her!"
"Jen-"
"She could be anywhere right now!"
"Jen! She's long gone. The police are actually looking for her at this very minute. And that's where I need your help." The brunette frowned.
"My help? You never really ask for my help..."
"Now I do. I need you to search for Ella with me." Jen shook her head.
"I don't know... We have no idea where she is." Rachelle realized that she was right. Neither of them had no idea where she was headed, let alone where she was. The phone rang. Rachelle excused herself and answered it.
"Hello?"
"Good evening, Rachelle."
"May I ask who's speaking?" Rachelle responded, unfamiliar with the voice.
"My identity is not what's important. What's important is whether you know Ella is alive or not." Rachelle became pale.
"I-I don't know if she's dead! " A pause.
"Doesn't matter. I know where you live, Rachelle. Expect a visit sometime tonight. And be prepared with some answers." Rachelle slammed the phone down.
"What's wrong?" Asked Jen. Anxious, Rachelle locked all the doors and windows.
"I think that Jason may be alive."
"Of course! Why wouldn't he?" Rachelle unplugged all of the house phone plugs.
"Somehow, that bastard's alive," She hissed. Jen had a confused expression on her face. I had ended up explaining to her the story.
"I don't get it, Lee. Why is Jason the bad guy if he was almost killed?" Rachelle stared at her friend dead in the eyes.
"Because Jason is a murderer too, obviously."
