Chapter 7
I was tapping my fingers on my lap laying in my hospital bed , bored out of my mind. I was dying to find out more of this building's history. But that would have to wait until later on.... There was a knock on the door. "Come in," I called. A nurse came in and sat in a chair next to me. "Hello, Ella. How are you doing?" The woman looked very suspicious...
"Good." I replied.
"You are ready to be checked out. You seem like you're in good condition. You just got frostbite in your arms and legs, but we cleared that up for you. Where are your parents...?" I panicked, but thought of something quickly.
"They are at work. They should be here sometime today. I called them and all." The nurse glanced at her watch.
"What time will that be?" I ran the options through my head.
'If I pick a time too late, then the nurse will think something's wrong. If I say a time too early, then they will think something's up and try to request a time for me to get picked up....'
"Um, 9:00 p.m. My parents usually work very late." She nodded and wrote it down on her clip board. She got up. "Thanks. I'll be back in a bit." Then she shut the door behind her. I exhaled. I prayed that the escape was earlier. I was starting to get a really bad feeling about this, though...

The nurse walked straight towards the lab with Ella's time and test results in her hand. She stopped in front of the Manager's door and knocked. "Enter." She walked in and gave the head doctor the papers. "Here. The most recent patients results." He looked them over, looking skeptical. "And this is... Ella? " He asked.
"Yes sir." He frowned. "She was found in the local park, passed out from the cold? I'm glad we took her in when we did ..." He then looked over the check-out sheet. " I doubt she has any parents. Most of the kids here are orphans!" The man crumpled up the sheet and tossed in the waste basket. The nurse looked worried. She hoped she didn't have to endure one of his tantrums again..... He rubbed his temples. "Is there something wrong, sir?" He glared at her and turned around in his chair, his back facing her.
"... Get her to tell you everything. Everything. I want her details, real name, history, everything thing you can dig up. Understand? Dismissed." The anxious nurse nodded and headed out. "They always do. I won't let you down, boss."

Snowflakes began to fall again, powering the ground and on Jason's face like sugar . He grunted. 'If only I could drive....'Jason muttered. He was now headed to a hospital, was it? He stopped pedaling and checked map. 'Darn. I'm going the wrong way... Great. How far was he? Not far....... Soon, a hospital was in the distance. Was this it? 'Of course this is it; its probably the only hospital in this town!' Jason thought to himself. He hid his bike in the bushes to be unseen, and so he can remember where it was. An ambulance had pulled in the driveway, and unloaded yet another patient. 'It looks like the hospital's closing. Wait, hospitals don't close!' That's strange. Maybe this wasn't just any ordinary hospital... "Hey, kid! What are you doing out here?" A woman yelled as she was heading towards him. 'Oh shit,' Jason hissed. He started to run so he could hide. There was the sound of sirens all around him, engulfing him in loud noises.
"Stop that kid!"
"He must have escaped!"
"Surrender when you have the chance, boy!" Jason started feeling dizzy, and then passed out. "Now you will never escape again... Nobody will."
