Link cautiously stepped into the boss room. It was a plain, subterranean room: a flat brown floor, orange glowing walls, and piles of rocks here and there. But Link immediately noticed a small group of suspicious looking blins in the center of the room, along with them, a young unconscious girl with silvery blond hair and olive toned skin was tied up with thick rope.

Link drew his sword, catching the blins' attention. When they saw him, four of the smaller blins became enraged, ready to fight, but the largest, a bulblin the size of King Bulblin, motioned for them to calm down, and then began beating the ground with his giant club.

At first, his random pounding didn't seem to do a thing, but soon enough, the rumbling caused the ground to crack, and Link realized the floor he stood on wasn't as sturdy as he thought. The group of blins made their way up a pile of boulders, and as they neared the top, the lot of them began snorting, and cackling, obviously taunting Link.

Just as they were safe atop the rock platform, a huge force tore the ground from the center of the floor, revealing the lava underneath.

Link jumped back. The only safe land left in the room was closest to the wall.

Suddenly, a huge monster burst from the hole, and once it settled, Link recognized its shape as a bird, if not a kargarok. Its whole body  seemed to be on fire, and its huge eyes glaring at Link glowed pink, as if they were searing hot metal.

"This isn't good!" Mari cried over the noise. "He's a Pheoroc! A type of kargarok made of the fire elements! Link, they can never die!"

Somehow, Link doubted this. "There has to be some way to get him out of our way..."

Pheoroc screeched in anger. Then he started flapping his wings at Link, causing him to assume the move was to blow him away.

But soon, it was proven by the way its wings dripped lava, that this attack was to be taken more seriously.

Link tried avoiding getting burned by running alongside the wall.

Eventually, Pheoroc ceased trying to whip his opponent, and Link remembered the owl statue. In one motion, he pulled a bomb flower from his bag, and tossed it into the lava, causing it to explode prematurely.

The augmented eruption had the desired effect on Pheoroc. He squawked in pain, and fell back into the hole.

"I never would've thought a the weakness of a bird made entirely out of lava, would be bombs!" Link laughed.

Before he could continue his mocking, Pheoroc once again burst from its pit. Link continued the same pattern a few more times, but kept his guard up. He learned his lesson from the first Dinolfos.

After three more bombs, Pheoroc let out a long, agonized cry, then sunk once more into the lava pool.

Mari fluttered excitedly around Link's head. "You did it, Link! You defeated that bird monster!"

But Link wasn't as satisfied. "Hang on, you said it couldn't die, right? It couldn't have been that easy."

They cautiously approached the edge, and took a peak in. The lava was calm, with but a slight boiling here and there. Link looked towards the giant pile of rocks the blins stood on. They were leaning over the edge as well, trying to see if their defense really fell.

But as Link turned his back on the lava pool, it erupted upward, Pheoroc making his return.

"Second phase..." Link muttered, backing towards the wall.

This time, Pheoroc's whole body turned just like his eyes, searing hot metal, and all over, he dripped the same melted substance.

"How revolting!" Mari quivered, and hid behind Link.
