The labyrinth was seemingly peaceful, as at first, the only real threat was the occasional swarm of Keese being stirred by their presence. But the deeper the trio got into the cave, the more they would realize it wasn't as simple as it seemed.

"Is it just me, or is this tunnel we're in keep curving?" Link noted.

True that it had been curving even if just a little without end for the past several minutes. "I wonder what part of the forest we're under right now?" Birch wondered aloud.

But their question fell short significance when they reached another wall that met their path. It was different from the last, smooth, and flat, gold designs swirling around the borders, and in the center was the recognizable shape of Farore's Crest.

     "Another standstill?" Mari groaned.

"I thought you said this was the right way, Birch," Link questioned.

Birch snorted. "I never said it was. This is just the way I feel my Mother's presence come from. Sorry that my navigating methods aren't good enough for you."

Link rubbed his head, and took a moment to think. "Well, if this really was a dead end, it would probably be a regular cave wall. Maybe this is a door?"

"With no handle?" Mari wondered, flying all around its surface, confirming no mechanism to open it.

Link shrugged. "I guess there's nothing we can do from here. I say we turn back, and see what the other way led to."

Though they had to walk about another five minutes to reach the previous fork, when they did, they noticed the path below them didn't flow with water. In fact, it was smooth and solid, like it was paved. As soon as they made it far enough down the tunnel, two torches from within the dark lit up, and metal bars slammed down behind them, locking them in.

     "What?!" Mari gasped.

"Shield, Birch! Back against the wall!" Link ordered, pushing the boy behind him.

Just as expected, an enemy appeared. A misty, translucent figure conjured right before them, surrounded by glimmering light. It wore a tall, pointy hat, a long robe to match, and its wrinkly face housed a twisted smile with crooked teeth.

"A Wizrobe!" Mari warned. "It'll blast you, then dissappear! Hit it quick!"

As promised, the Wizrobe raised its thin, boney hands, and from its palms shot two waves of magic, which looked to be quite hot.

Link's body reacted before his mind did. In the blink of an eye, he whipped out his sword, and slashed at the waves. To his surprise, his blade sliced them in half as if they were solid. He raised his sword again, but before he could jump at the Wizrobe, it twirled around and vanished into thin air.

Alarmed, his head whipped to every direction, trying to find his enemy. Suddenly, it appeared to his right, and he ran to attack it while he had the chance, landing a successful blow. But it simply jolted, shaking it's head, and vanished again.

He spun around, his sword ready in hand, scanning the room for the first movement that caught his eye. Soon enough, it appeared again, and he charged to slash at it. This repeated a few times.

"How long until he dies?!" Link finally yelled in exasperation.

"Hang on, Link!" Mari called. "What if it's more than one?"

Link's brow furrowed. He allowed himself a second to think before the Wizrobe reappeared.

He could only think of one possible strategy he could make at the moment. He pulled his seed shooter from his pouch, but he was out of seeds. He made due with a pebble from the ground, and shot the Wizrobe as it appeared. Before it could make a single move, it was immobile, stunned by the seed. Aside from that one, a second Wizrobe appeared, confirming Mari's theory.
