"I met Tyde in high school, actually," Tess said after Leila had ranted about what had happened. The younger woman looked confused, but she nodded for Tess to go on and drank of her coffee. "He's two years older than me, and I was the dumb sophmore who fell in love with a senior."

"You have loved my asshole of a brother for seven years?" Leila asked, slightly shocked. When her brother was eighten she had been twelve so she didn't really care much about his girlfriends back then, mostly because he didn't have any. He had some friends and friends with benefits, but no girlfriends.

"Yeah," Tess said and nodded, smiling faintly. "I tutored him in science so he would be able to graduate, then I didn't see him much after he graduated. I couldn't stop loving him though, because he was still everywhere in my mind. Then when I went off to college to study computer science, and he was there. I met him on campus one day when I was on my way to class, and he actually recognized me. He called me Tessie and asked if I had changed my number, which I had. We started hanging out and became friends, then we became best friends."

Leila nodded and mentally praised her brother for being a decent human being. "Then what? Why are you even telling me this?"

"I want you to know that it can work out," the older woman said, sipping on her cappuccino. "I told him that I was in love with him three months ago, and he didn't say anything, so of course I assumed that he didn't love me back. I went to my apartment and cried for a couple of hours with two tubs of ice cream and cuddled my kitten."

"But you're together?" Leila said in a questioning tone and leaned forward a little, confusion written all over her face.

"Yeah, because he put his pants on and came to my apartment and kissed me. He told me that he loves me too and that he was just scared of losing his best friend." Tess patted her boyfriend's sister's hand that was on the table with a smile. "I think you should talk to Tom, it might make you happier."

"I'm not ready to talk to him as me yet, it's hard enough to shoot Cassidy and Peter scenes," Leila said and frowned. "I just poured my heart out and I never do that, but he couldn't even say anything. It broke my heart and crushed the little confidence I previously had."

"There's one thing you need to know, Leila," Tess said and smirked. "Boys are stupid, they do stupid things. But, make him make up for the stupid thing he's done. Tom loves you, maybe not in the way you love him, but he loves you so much. And if you ever need anyone, then you have me, you have your castmates, and you have your family. We are all here for you, Leila."

The younger woman bit her lip and nodded, saying a quiet, "Thank you."
