When the two young adults arrived at the hospital, there was already someone in Tyde's room. It wasn't Lily, James, or Amelia since they had already visited him. Leila didn't want to overwhelm her brother, so she had gone to get some food with Tom. A beautiful young woman was sitting on the side of the bed, her hand resting on Tyde's cheek.

"I'm sorry, but who are you?" Leila asked in confusion and handed the bag of food to Tom. Tyde sat up a little to look over the girl's shoulder and smiled.
"Leila, you're here," he said happily, his voice slightly raspy. "This is my girlfriend, Tess. Tess, this is my little sister, Leila."
Tess got up from the bed and smiled politely. Leila had to look up to meet the woman's eyes, but she didn't mind as she slowly smiled.
"Hello, Leila. Tyde has told me lots about you," she said and held out her hand, but Leila didn't take it. Instead she pulled Tess down a little and embraced her. Tom decided that commenting on the hug would only get him punched, so he walked over to his kind of brother and handed him the food.
"Make him happy and you'll be the next member of the family," Leila whispered as a slightly shocked Tess hugged her back. "I love him, but he's an asshole. If he ever does something stupid - and trust me, he will - just call me and I'll lecture him."
"Thank you, Leila," Tess whispered and squeezed the shorter girl.
