As night rolled in and the sky grew darker around Nick and Judy, they found themselves having more fun than they expected for a case.

They were just walking and talking and having a laugh about nothing in particular that it was so stupid, yet funny.

Judy was actually smiling for the first time in ten years and Nick actually felt like he was around someone he could trust. It was perfect.

That was until a group of girls from Judy's school began approaching the two of them, laughing loudly.

Judy stopped walking when she noticed them, and grabbed the sleeve of Nick's police jacket to pull him back.

"What is it?" He asked, looking down at Judy.

"Can we walk a different way home?" She asked suddenly, and Nick furrowed his eyebrows.

"Why?" He questioned and Judy bit her lip.

"Please," she begged, but it was too late.

"Oh, look who it is!" One of the girls called out.

They were all bunnies, but all of them were taller than Judy by a long shot. She groaned, rolling her eyes, and Nick looked over to them, now noticing why Judy wanted to walk a different way home.

Not wanting to cause her any unnecessary stress for the night, Nick grabbed Judy's paw and tugged on it, slightly pulling her along with him as he began to cross the road.

"She's such a coward she has to have a cop escort her everywhere!"

This comment made Judy's ears perk up, and she turned around before Nick could stop her.

"What did you say?" She asked bitterly, and the bunny scoffed.

"You heard me," she retorted, placing a hand on her hip.

Judy's nose twitched as Nick was left to watch. She let go of his paw but he grabbed her wrist, pulling her back.

"Judy, let's go," he insisted, carrying on walking.

"That's right, Judy. Go back to your abusive father!"

This time, both Nick and Judy stopped, and Nick whipped his head round to look down at Judy, who's expression was unreadable, to the group of bunnies, who were laughing and smirking.

"You girls better get out of here before I call your parents," Nick growled and all five of them glared at him in disgust before walking off.

Once they were gone, Nick shifted all of his attention to Judy, who stood there like she was frozen.

"Judy," he bent down in front of her, but she yanked her arm from Nick's grasp rather violently before wiping her eyes with the sleeve of her shirt and sniffling.

"Judy," he cooed, reaching his paw out to Judy, who immediately recoiled like he was something on the bottom of her shoe.

'She's just upset,' he told himself as Judy stared at him with anger in her eyes as tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Fuck off!" She yelled through her cries before taking off in a sprint down the street.

Nick stood back up straight. "Judy!"

"Leave me alone!" She yelled before turning a corner and continuing to run down the street.

Nick sighed, as chasing her right now would be useless. She was upset, and needed some time to cool down before he went after her.

It was so sad to him that she could be happy one minute, then completely devastated the next. It made Nick feel the same every time; like she would never be the same, even though she always was. It made him feel like all of his hard work in getting Judy to come out of her shell was just trampled upon by others who didn't care nearly enough as he did.

It was upsetting...
