Nick Wilde entered the ZPD building with style. He had his shades over his eyes and a polystyrene cup of coffee in his paw, sipping it as he made his way to the front desk.

"Mornin' Ben," he greeted Clawhauser, who sat behind the front desk eating his cereal.

"Morning, Nick!" Clawhauser chirped through his mouthful of Lucky Chomps and Nick chuckled.

"Got anything to report?" Nick asked, picking up the pen from next to the sign in sheet snd scribbling his name down in the space provided.

"Nothing yet," he answered once he had swallowed his cereal. "The Black Gulls still haven't been captured yet either."

Nick sighed, placing the pen back down on the table.

"I don't understand, why do they call themselves The Black Gulls? None of them are even seagulls!" He exclaimed and Clawhauser just shook his head.

"I don't know," the cheetah sighed. "But if anyone can catch them, it's you! Right?"

Nick sighed and shook his head. "Sorry to disappoint you, buddy, but we haven't caught them for two months. I'm not so sure we'll just magically find them any time soon."

"Well, it's not like they're going anywhere," Clawhauser muttered and Nick nodded in agreement.

"Well, I gotta go now buddy, but it was good talkin' to you," Nick stated, pointing at the cheetah as he started walking away.

"Alright, Nick, see you!" He waved, and Nick chuckled lightly before turning around and heading to roll call.

Chief Bogo wasn't there yet, and Nick arrived just on time, as the Cape buffalo walked into the room just as Nick took his seat at the front of the room.

"Good morning," Bogo mumbled and Nick smirked.

"Good to see you, Chief! Nice to know you're always so happy to see us," he remarked and Bogo's nostrils flared.

"Shut it, Wilde!" He yelled, and the majority of the room chuckled.

It was quite hard to believe Nick was only eighteen. He looked like he was twenty-four at the youngest, which was another reason why he was a cop. Because he looked older than he really was, he was able to get into gangs and collect the dirt on then. Also, he was a fox and suspicions were still high on foxes in the metropolis of Zootopia.

But that didn't bother Nick at all. He didn't care about how the world felt about him, because for all he knew, he was one of the many cops actually protecting the city. And plus, those who still hated foxes were paying tax, which went towards his work salary. So, in a way, they were straight up paying him.

"Wilde, seeing as you've completed all of your cases for this week, I'm assigning you to filing them. Do you think you can do that?" Chief Bogo asked patronisingly.

Nick was a good cop, and even though sometimes he didn't take his job seriously, he would still get the work done, and it record time too! So, it was no surprise that he had completed all of his cases for the week when it was only Wednesday.

Nick just sat up straight and gave a mock soldier salute. "Can do, sir!"

"Splendid. I've gone to the liberty of putting the files on your desk - I expect them to be done by the end of the day."
