The next morning, Nick woke Judy up rather early to get to work on finding witnesses of the attack to ask if they saw anything suspicious or anything at all.
Nick's house was nice, and had two bedrooms. Two because he claimed to let his mother stay there when she was in town or sick and needed someone to look after her, which made Judy fall in love with him even more.
The room she was staying in was pretty big, probably three times as big as her room back home, and was decorated pretty nicely. There were pictures of Nick on the walls, and popular quotes tattooed around the room, and Judy figured this must be the room his mother stayed in.
Nick walked in that morning to find Judy in a tank top and shorts sprawled across the bed as she slept soundly. He almost felt sorry for having to wake her up, as she seemed so content in that bed, but he had to if he was to complete this case.
"Carrots," he whispered, shaking Judy slowly. "Carrots, get up."
Judy groaned and opened her eyes lazily to see Nick's face a few inches from hers, and she suddenly jerked herself away from him, so fast that she fell off the other end of the bed.
Nick chuckled and walked round the bed to help her up, and she thanked him before pushing her off into the bathroom to get ready.
He made breakfast for the two of them, blueberry pancakes with a carrot smoothie, and the two ate in silence before heading out to get a good start on the day.

"Well, that went well, don't you think?" Nick asked, looking down at Judy as the two of them walked down the street.
"I suppose," Judy shrugged. "I mean, did you find out anything else about The Black Gulls?"
"No, not really, but I found out that they've been terrorising other parts of Zootopia which I need to look more into," Nick replied, and Judy's ears fell.
"Oh...well, more money, right?" She asked happily and Nick nodded.
It was nice for him to see this side of Judy, and he found it strange how just a few days ago, she seemed like she really was trouble. But, after getting to know her, Nick found himself becoming more and more attracted to her, which wasn't a crime, but it seemed like it was.
Judy seemed so young, even though she was around ten months younger than Nick - not even a whole year! Yet she seemed mature when serious things hit her. She knew roughly how to deal with important situations and Nick had to give her credit for that. But something about all of this seemed wrong...
