*five months later*

"Mara Lou?" Derrick says while knocking at the front door.

"Derrick! Please, come in!" I shout and open the front door.

"Gosh I haven't seen you in forever! How long has it been? Three? Four months?" He asks.

"Five months. I believe the last time I've actually communicated with you face to face has been since the night before we went to Weller's Bridge with everybody else."

"Yeah, it's been too long! So what's been going on with you for the past few months? I heard about you and Jesse splitting a couple weeks after Weller's Bridge." He says looking at the floor.

Yeah, he said it. "Well, what story did you hear?"

"Well, I heard that he was caught cheating with his ex-girlfriend. What's her name...?"

"Lauren. Yeah. That's the true story. I drove over to his house to find him laying in bed with her. I threw everything at the both of them and came back home. Yeah, I ended up depressed for a long time because I really thought I loved him. But, he didn't love me like he said he did."

"Damn, I'm sorry Mara. Why didn't you call me? You know I was your best friend.." He says looking at the floor once again.

"And you still are. I just wanted to be alone.  But ended up not being alone. Katie and Cody we're gone. And Jacob had apparently seen my zoom by Fun Town, that's where he works now, and decided to take his lunch break early to check on me. He decided to stay with me while Katie and Cody we're gone and made sure I didn't do something stupid." I explained. "Jacob and I were able to work things out."

"Oh, so you guys back together now?" Derrick asks.

"Yeah. It'll be three weeks tomorrow." I say.

"Well I should probably go." He says getting up from the couch.

"You haven't heard what else is going on buddy. Sit your leaving ass back down."

"Damn, alright." He says laughing as he sits back down on the couch.

"Alright... Now where was I?" I continue explaining what has happened in the last few months.

First of all, yeah, Jesse and I are not a thing anymore. But Jacob and I are. He got a job working down the street from my house. But onto bigger news, Stevie Raye is due to have her baby well, babies, in one month! Two little boys, she revealed to me the other day. She's getting so big that I believe she's gonna have to be put on a walker soon. Honestly, I don't think she'll last another week or two without having them kids. Onto other news. Tucker and Kevin aren't a thing anymore. Tucker decided that the whole gay thing wasn't working for him but Kevin is as straight as a circle. But, that doesn't bother me. Tucker is trying to keep getting back with Danny but she just isn't having it anymore. Kevin, on the other hand, is trying to become best friends with Summer and Fred, since Summer is his step sister now.

"Damn. You've had an eventful last couple months." Derrick says shaking his head.

"Oh yeah." I say looking at the floor then realize the party that we're having tomorrow night. "Hey, you're invited to the party tomorrow. We're having this springy type themed party and I want you to come."

"Sounds good. What time do you want me here?"

"Well, I kinda need help with decorations and the party starts at 7." I hint around.

"I'll be here at four. See ya then!" Derrick says standing up, walking towards the door.

"Umm, buddy where do you think you're going without giving your best friend a hug?" I say standing up.
