Chapter Seventeen: Tree Huggers

(JESSE)

Mara and I finally fell asleep around midnight and I woke up with a terrible hangover. Probably not as bad as Luna and Hayden's hangover.

"Good morning my beautiful girlfriend." I say cuddling up to Mara.

"Good morning my handsome boyfriend." Mara says still halfway asleep.

"You sound so nice when you first wake up, you know that right?" I ask kissing her left cheek.

"Yeah, yeah. Just be a little quieter. I've never had a headache this bad." She says holding her head.

"Here, I'll go get you your migraine medicine and that should take car of it."

"Nah, I'll be alright babe. What time is it?" She asks rubbing her eyes.

"It's 11:34."

"Geez, we told everybody to meet here around one and I've still got to shower. I've gotta get to moving. You think you and Hayden can make breakfast?" She asks jumping out of bed.

"Sure thing. What would you like?" I ask jumping up to slide my clothes back on.

"French toast with Nutella spread over it." She answers then kisses me.

"Knew it. I'll get on it. You go shower and it'll be done by the time you get out."

"Thank you babe. I love you!" She says smiling at me.

"I love you too baby. See ya in a bit." I say and walk out the bedroom door towards the kitchen.

*twenty minutes later*

(MARA)

I walk out of the steamy bathroom to see Hayden, Jesse, Summer, Fred, Danny, and Luna setting the table for breakfast. Everybody looks completely ready to go hiking and I just put on more pajama's after my shower.

"Well, you guys look all great with your active wear stuff, I'm just gonna go in my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pajamas." I say looking at the floor but giggling.

"Haha no. You came up with the idea so you're dressing for it." Stevie Raye says walking through the front door.

"Stevie Raye! I haven't seen you in ages! How'd you find out about the hiking trip today?" I say hugging her.

"Derek told Herrah last night when got to my house. Derek didn't wanna go home and be by himself so he came to our house." Stevie Raye explain.

"I told that goofball that he could stay here." I say frowning. "Oh well, I tried. How little Dyl?"

"He's getting bigger and bigger every day. The doctors say I'm a little bigger than I'm supposed to be. But, it's my first child so it's normal."

"I can't wait to see my little nephew. You sure you're up to going all the way up to Weller's bridge today?" I ask.

"Yeah, Herrah is gonna stay here and watch the house with Niall while we're gone. Now, you guys finish your breakfast so we can head out and have some fun!" She says with a smile on her face.

"Yeah babe, you're French toast is getting cold." Jesse says.

"That's my cue." I say and walk towards the kitchen table.

*thirty minutes later*

"I feel like I've ate an entire cow!" Summer shouts.

"Same, girl. Same!" I answer back.

"Oh well, you two will work that 'cow' off while we're at Weller's Bridge! Let's go!" Stevie Raye says with joy.

Everybody groans and starts heading to the car.
