Chapter Six- New Beginnings

(MARA POV)
(3 months later)

It's now almost the ending of October. Nothing has really changed. OH! Stevie Raye is now three months pregnant!! She goes today to find out if it's a boy or girl! I'm excited!!

It's been almost four months since I was almost killed. Jacob practically saved my life. Katie's house was being robbed and the guy came into the bathroom and found me there. He held a gun to my head but before he could pull the trigger Jacob came in and beat him with my handy dandy baseball bat I have hid in my closet. The guy that tried to kill me is now in jail. Jacob has scars on his arms from the guy trying to fight back by digging the side of his gun into his arms. He doesn't care though, Jacob don't. He just wanted to keep me safe.

Today, October 27, Friday, is Jacob's birthday. All he knows is that he is coming over to hang out with me, Katie and Cody at Katie's house. But really, it's a surprise party.

I was now living at Katie's house. Mom and dad had given me the choice to stay or leave. They had noticed that my little brothers, Ethan and Max, were absolutely killing me. I guess just being boys. I was spending all my time in my room and any other spare time I was at Katie's.

"Good morning Jacob!" I said while shaking him. He didn't budge. "Jacob honey wake up!" He had fallen asleep on the couch.

"Ugh, babe I'm awake!" He finally said.

"We need to get to Katie's if you want dinner!"

He sighs loudly and stumbles to his room to change his clothes. He sighs and groans the entire time he's changing. Finally he comes out with what looks like new clothes. He wore a FOX racing shirt, blue and black in color, and a pair of distressed dark blue jeans and of course, he wouldn't be Jacob without his cowboy boots. All I wore is a pair of capris, brown sandals and a neon quarter length shirt. I'll have to admit, we look great together.

Of course my mother came to pick us up at Jacobs house. Being able to read his mind, he's mad at me because he thinks I forgot his birthday. But, my friend, I surely didn't.

Jacob was surprised when he seen all the cars sitting outside of Katie's house. "What's going on, Mara?"

"Watch and learn my friend." I say as I drag him out of my moms car.

Opening the door and seeing Jacobs face he was making was priceless. All of the WGS was here, and their boyfriends. Oh, plus Amaryllis, Scott, Crystal, and, oh my god, Andrew Dillard.

"Happy Sweet 16 Babe!!" I shout with everybody else.

"And I thought you forgot. This is why I love you." He says then kisses my forehead.

"Now there isn't any alcohol because your family is here." I explain.

He nods his head and smiles then walks over to Scott. I walk towards Summer and Fred. "Hey guys!" I shout.

"Hey Mara Lou! Great Party!"

"Yeah, yeah. Katie done most of it," I see Stevie Raye and Herrah. "Hold on guys, I'll be back.... STEVIE RAYE!!" I yell.

"Oh hey, guess what??" She asks smiling at me then Herrah, then back to me.

"Oh my god, boy or girl??"

"ITS A BOY!!" She shouts.

"Oh my gosh I'm so happy for you! Just what you guys wanted!!"i shout back. About that time Shake It Off comes on and everybody starts making their way to the living room to dance and act stupid. Jacob and I aren't dancing together. He's standing there with Scott and Andrew watching me dance. God Andrew is such a freak.

The party had now come to an end right around ten. I was kinda tired but took a shower anyway. Katie and Cody were cuddling across the room from me and Jacob. We're cuddling too. He makes me feel so safe when I'm in his arms.
