She was walking down the hall... A hall so bright to any other passer-by but to her so dark, lonely, depressing... How could a hall that holds so many bad memories be bright to her anymore? It simply couldn't... To her it will always be the hall were she said her goodbye not to one, not to two, not even to three persons. There she had said so many goodbyes and now she had lost count... But this goodbye was the last one. She would say her final goodbye, the one that would hurt the most and then she would forget... just like that every goodbye, every tear, every scream would go away... It doesn't sound that bad, does it? But it was, it truly was because the pain was what made her who she was. Her life was full of pain but she wouldn't change it for the world because it made her who she was, it made her real...

She didn't even notice it but her feet knew the root. She was there... to that room... his room. She opened the door slowly and carefully, to make no sound. After all he needed his sleep and she needed to be unnoticed, as not to be stopped. She knelt by his bedside. By now she was shaking and tears were moistening her eyes. She tried to blink them back but it was in vain. She took his pale hand in her own very similar one and gave it a light squeeze placing a small kiss to the back of it. She couldn't help it anymore, silent tears were streaming down her face leaving wet trails behind them. She held back a sob and began to speak:
" Goodbye. I hope you forgive me, I am sorry but I need to do this, I need to go. Please forgive me. And remember I love you, so very much. I wanted to stay but I can't... I promised and I never break a promise not to mention two... Please forgive and remember me... even if I forget you please remember me and forgive me. Goodbye, I love you don't forget that..."

She couldn't take it anymore, so she stood up and whipped her tears. She was ready and nothing could stop her... Nothing and no one...

She changed direction and went to another room. This room was dark, truly dark or maybe no and it was just her nerves playing cruel games on her... She saw it... the needle that one little needle, the one way ticket to away, far far away yet oh so close... Her hands were shaking even more now... she couldn't control it, it wasn't her fault. She took it and pressed it against her arm and then pushed the needle inside... she felt it, the serum was inside her veins... she only had a minute. She pressed the bottom and heard the elevator like box moving down, coming closer... The dizziness was catching up now... She pressed the 'up' bottom and quickly got inside the box, the door closed and it started moving up but she couldn't take it anymore the dizziness, the burning sensation that spread through her arm, the hypnotizing red lights that passed her once in a while. She felt herself slowly but steadily drifting in and out of unconsciousness... and her last thought before she completely passed out was the cool soothing feeling of curved metal in her ring finger...
