I woke up around 9:00 and everyone was around already walking the house. They were all out of their beds. I decided to do a search of the place just for the fun of it. It seemed way bigger on the inside than it looked from the outside. I first looked around on the second floor, which I was on right now. I walked out the doorway of the bedroom and made a right to the next door over. I knocked and heard nothing in reply. I grabbed for the door knob and walked forward. I stopped quickly before tripping over an aray of vines strewn across the floor. Over in the corner of the small room was a small girl with light-brown hair tied in pig-tails. She sat on a pile of bright leaves and flowers that sat under a small tree. She was sitting with her eyes closed and her legs crossed and she was letting out a low hum. Before I got her attention, I left the room and shut the door quietly.

I continued down the hallway to the right looking for something to keep my attention. I walked to the next door over and knocked softly. I heard a muffled scratching sound and I noticed a slot in the door. There was the sound of a lock opening frantically and the slot flew open. Behind the slot, a pair of dark blue eyes awaited me. "Can I help you?!?" the owner of the angry eyes said. "I was just looking around..." I said as my voice faded. The girl swung open the door and looked at me. "You live here, I live here, just do not come near my stuff," Melodi told me. "Listen, Melodi," I said, "I don't want any hatred going between us. I'm not gonna kill you while you sleep so please don't be disgusted by my presence. Just trust me." She looked at me carefully. I think she took what I said into consideration because she smiled. "Fine. I trust u. I'm Melodi," she said then she turned around and walked into her room, her curly hair bouncing behind her. I got a quick glance at her room. It was a light blue painted room. The walls held many pictures and drawings, so I assumed that she had an artistic sense. She seemed nice enough now, so I gave her a chance as a friend. I continued across the hall because Melodi's was the last on the right.

The room directly across was plain. It wasn't being used for anything and it was a regular square room with one window letting in as much light that could filter through the fogginess. I closed the door and moved on. The door was a pale blue and when I opened, I wasn't impressed. It was a dingy, gray bathroom with a bath/shower and an uncomfortable looking toilet across from a boring sink. I left that in a rush and moved on. I kept on opening doors to find myself with a bare room before me. I continued on searching for something, anything.

I moved on down to the bottom floor. I got to a mix of closets, bathrooms, and bare rooms. I moved to one particularly odd room though. When I stepped in, a cold wall of air hit me. When I settled, I noticed that it was snowing in the room. Little flakes of snow fell from the ceiling and crept their way to the floor.

I  noticed a small pile of snow in the corner of the room, which was strange considering that in the rest of the room the snow hadn't accumulated as much. I walked over to it, leaving a trail of melted snow. As I touched the pile it melted to reveal Winter, curling up in a white silk nightgown. She looked up at me with a white face and frozen tears on her cheeks. I reached down and touched her cheeks and the tears melted and slid off of her face.

I stretched my hand down to her and she took it. I helped her up to her feet. I felt cold as she touched me. We sat on her bed and she held out a white lump which I soon realized was a frozen bird. I took it into my hands and looked at Winter sitting there, pouting. I felt bad so I closed my hand around the bird and closed my eyes, focusing on only Winter's pain, I wanted her pain to go away. I felt movement in my hand and when I opened my hand again the bird flew up into Winter's snowy ceiling.

She didn't say anything but she leaned over to me and hugged me.

I held her close even though it made me unaturally cold. I never wanted to let go. She was a sweet, sensitive girl that I really liked. But suddenly I had the urge to tell her something.

"I love you.." I said slowly.

She merely blushed, which added to pure awkwardness in the air.

I then noticed Summer standing in the doorway, smirking. She walked over, messed up my hair and pushed me back onto the bed. I just lay there as Summer lead Winter out of the room...
