Winter's P.O.V.
Recently after Summer and Travis left to get their things, I heard a knock on the door. I ran down stairs and stood on my toes to look through the peep hole. I was greeted by a familiar boy and girl. I opened the door to have a pair of bright emerald eyes and pair of strange red eyes. When I saw them I smiled happily. The stepped inside the foyer and I went to grab for one of their bags but my hand was caught midway there. Travis had grabbed it and looked up at me and smiled. "No, that's alright! I've got it," he said. He got the bag and walked up the stairs to the left. I stood where I was and smiled at my thoughts. I liked Travis so far, he seemed nice. Fires elementals hate water elementals though, so it was odd for him to befriend me...or even agree to stay with me. .
I walked up the stairs not far behind them. When I got into the room they had gathered, Summer had been talking to Meadow, while Melodi was scowling at Travis, Travis looked back at her confused. He walked up to me when I walked in the door. "Does your friend already despise me?" He asked. "Oh, don't worry about her. She just doesn't trust anyone until she knows that they are reliable." I told him and he looked slightly relieved. "But she's come not to trust fire elementals. But, once she finds out how nice you are, you'll grow on her." I said turning, smiling. I saw him turn red also and smile. "Oh.... I have to, um.... go over in that direction," he told me pointing over to Summer and Meadow. I cocked my head, but let him go.
I stepped over to Melodi and she was smirking deviously. "What was that over there?" she asked, "All I saw was talking then he turned red." I think she could tell that I liked Travis' personality. Melodi knew me well and she had a way to tell what I was feeling or thinking. We had met in our old town where everyone was a form of water elementals. We had run away together and grown close enough to be sisters. She was my only friend and our families never noticed us. We would only spend time with each other in the village. I still wonder if our families had even noticed our disappearances...
I situated both Travis and Summer in the same room, ignoring Summer's pleading to sleep with me and my friends. This was our biggest room and we used it as a bedroom. We all slept in here to protect each other if anyone found out about us. It was the most effective way to stay safe. We all got ready for bed and eventually got into bed. I flipped the switch near my bed, making everything dark. I shuddered...I hate the dark, it scares me, but there was no way to avoid the darkness...I'd only have to face it. Everything was silent and I was alone. I heard a thump...that was usual considering some of my friends are utterly restless sleepers. Believe me, I would know, I only sleep with them to avoid being alone...I get lonely easily, so being a child in a family that ignores you...lets just say it wasn't the best arrangement for my standards.
Eventually, after much rolling over and almost freezing myself, I drifted into a light, dreamless sleep...
