Ryder
Why was Rae at the football game with some guy? I assume he was her boyfriend or something like that by the way they were holding hands and then just started kissing in front of everyone. I didn’t even know she was dating! I didn’t see her run away from that kiss like she did when I tried to kiss her. I’ve asked around and found out that her boyfriend doesn’t have a very good reputation. Even though I don’t like Rae anymore, I still don’t want her ending up with someone who has a bad reputation like that! The worst part is, I think she saw me staring at them after the game. I don’t want her to think that I actually care. Because I don’t!
The rest of the year really flies by. I can’t count how many girls I have hooked up with since the beginning of the year. Although most of them are all just one time things, but Brittany is different. We go at it whenever we feel like it. People are starting to talk about the end of the year dance that is coming up. I haven’t decided if I want to go yet. Knowing my parents though, I will probably have to! They are really into making sure I am participating in school functions. I don’t know who I should ask to go with me yet.
Tonight I am hanging out with Alex and Nick. I haven’t hung out with them in forever. I have been really busy. After school got out, I ran to the bus to get home as fast as I could. When I got home, my sister Reagan was sitting on the couch eating some goldfish.
“Get out Reagan. My favorite show is on TV right now and I am missing it.” I yelled.
“Nuh-uh. I was here first. But, if you let me stay I will let you change the channel.” She said.
“Fine. Sounds great. Now please hand over the remote.” I said as kindly as I could. Once my show was over, I went into the kitchen to get something to eat. I was starving. The guys are going to be here any minute so I put a pizza in the oven. As soon as I close the oven door I hear Nick and Alex come in.
“Hey Reagan! How’s it been? Oh! Goldfish my favorite” I hear Alex say from the other room.
“Leave her alone jack ass” Nick says as he is walking into the kitchen.
“About time you guys showed up” I joked around. As we wait for the pizza we start to talk about the dance.
“So who are you going to take, Alex?” Nick asks
“Well Mary, Jane, Madison, or Lily it’s so hard when you have so many choices” he said I laughed at what he said. He thinks he can get any girl he wants. What a dreamer.
“What about you Ryder?” Alex asked
“ I don’t know I might not go, Brittany is going to be gone and I don’t really feel like trying to find a new girl just for one night, not to mention about half the girls in the school already hate me and the other half are losers that love me.” I explained with a smile.
“What about that Rae chick?” Nick asked. I froze I had never told any of them about what happened in fifth grade and they never really asked why we didn’t hang out after my birthday party.
“Rae? You mean my neighbor? Why would I ask her?” I said trying to dodge answering the question.
“Yeah, you guys were friends once right? Also I heard that her boyfriend just broke up with her. We both know that’s the best time to ask.” Alex said. Well that shocked me; I wonder why they broke up. I knew that if I asked for any more details, they would start wondering. I had to play this off cool so they wouldn’t bring it up again.
“Na she is kind of weird. I mean not my type.” I said
“Fine whatever dude but if you need anyone I might be able to get one of Abby’s friends.” Nick said
“Man you are still with her? Hasn’t it been like almost a year?” I asked
“Ten month to be exact, and I really like her, what is wrong with that?” Nick said in defense. I just shook my head. I had nothing to say. If staying with someone for that long made him happy I shouldn’t say anything. I guess it just isn’t my style. I like a new girl at least every two weeks. Alex tried to do the same but let’s just say he doesn’t have the good looks like me.
After Nick and Alex left, I called Brittany and told her to come over to my house so we
could watch a movie together. We all know what actually happens when you invite your “girlfriend” over to watch a movie. After the movie, she made me study Science with her. Like ‘actually study science. That was definitely not as fun.“So have you heard about the end of the school dance?” I asked. She was still looking at her paper.
“Yeah what about it?” She didn’t seem to into it.
“Well I was kind of hoping to bring you.” I said, secretly I was kind of scared to see what she was going to say. When she gets cranky well it’s not so pretty, plus I think it’s her special time of the month.
“Ryder you know I don’t like dances and I am out of town that weekend for debate. Just find another girl.” She looked up at me.” That can’t be that hard for you.” She was totally right. I left the subject alone knowing that if I pushed it any more she would get even more pissed
